I was hitting the bottle heavy, in a depression, and my mom found out she had cancer. Just wanted to say that had I been in a better headspace, I would have gotten in touch with you. #3

Don't think I've noticed any spam bots. Then again, haven't really looked around too much.

Horror Talk / Re: Best Movie In a Horror SeriesDecember 12, 2013, 10:27:42 AM
Let's see here.
Friday The 13th - The original. Not a fan of Jason as the killer. Halloween - The original, but 2 is really close. Really, if you watch them back to back, it's the one big film. The epitome of the slasher genre. A Nightmare On Elm Street - The original again. Mostly due to it being the first movie to scare the shit out of me and have a lasting impact on my life. Saw - Going with the original again, most because it was the only one that had a great atmosphere and had a twist ending that I didn't see coming. The rest were just an excuse to kill people off in grotesque fashion while the first was more of a mystery. Scream - I used to enjoy these films, but as time went on, I realized just how dumb they really were. Especially after the 3rd on hit and it was like, "Ok, now you're not even trying." So yeah, none. Alien - Gotta go with the original. But much like the case with Halloween, the sequel (Aliens) is pretty close. The feeling of claustrophobia the original provided was as big a star as the Alien itself. Predator - The original. Can't get much better than an Arnold action romp. Phantasm - The original, but only because the later entries are extremely forgettable in my opinion. Evil Dead - Evil Dead 2. This one really showed Raimi was growing as a director and Bruce was more comfortable in front of a camera. It also gave birth to the one-line spewing Ash we all know and love (though Army of Darkness cranked it up to 11.) Child's Play - Child's Play 2 for sure. While I liked the original, it kind of lost my attention from time to time. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Again, the original. However, it took me time to appreciate just how good it really is. It's visceral and gritty. It sets a tone and sticks to it throughout. Very unforgiving in nature. Hellraiser - This one is a bit harder to choose. I really love the first one, but the second one was a bit more grand in scale. I'll go with 2. I wanted to see more of Doug Bradley as Pinhead with his cenobites in tow and I got it with the added bonus of the Channard Cenobite. Good stuff. Final Destination - I'll go with the second one on this. It was a lot more fun than the original and a lot more clever than the sequels. Paranormal Activity - Fucking hate these movies. All of them suck. #7

Television / Re: The Walking DeadOctober 19, 2013, 06:18:53 PMQuote from: Crash Dummie on October 17, 2013, 01:18:31 AMThing with the show is, a lot of the characters are drastically different from their comic counter parts. In the comics, Andrea was A HELL OF A LOT more likeable than they made her in the show. I get what they were going for, for the most part. Make her make a bunch of bone headed decisions, realize the error of her ways way too late, and redeem her in her death. But that fell flat to me. Mostly because every episode before it just added another reason for me to hate her. As for Michonne, I can understand why they decided to make her stoic. She was on her own for who knows how long and felt betrayed by Andrea. So she's not just going to open up to a bunch of random people. The world they live in has hardened them and it'd take a lot more than a roof over their heads for them to be able to trust each other. Though, in the later episodes of Season 3, she started showing some signs of life. Going out of her way to get that family photo for Carl so he could give it to Judith when she's old enough so she knows what Lori looked like. Even in this debut episode, she showed some personality. She was apparently on a mission to find the Governor between the time season 3 ended and this past episode, but went out of her way to get Carl a comic book (or what I assume was a comic book.) Also when that one kid was trying to figure out what Daryl did before this, she was being a bit of a smart-ass about the whole thing. Anyways, I liked this episode. It wasn't great by any means, but it's a decent crutch for the viewer. See the characters in a time of peace and them seemingly having everything figured out. Only as the episode went on, things were slowly starting to be pulled out from under them. From what was said on the Talking Dead immediately after, things are supposed to get really crazy, really quick. Whether that means the next episode or the episode after remains to be seen. But I'm definitely looking forward to it for sure. Also, raining zombies. That was pretty cool. Especially the one that fell through first and had it's innards ripped out. It was kind of like a zombie bungee cord. #9

Man, been a while since this thread got updated. Been a while since I've posted here. At any rate, Season 4 tomorrow! Can't fucking wait. The trailers have looked great. Hopefully some loose ends will be tied, while at the same time, they'll sate the appetite the gore hounds have.

Brother Cane - "And Fools Shine On"
Fuck, I forgot this song existed until I found my old CD case today and started going through them. Brings back some FE Radio memories. Good times. #11

Not sure if I'm able to do that for the PC version or not. But for the most part, I only have the classical songs on and one or two others.
Also got a copy of Mirror's Edge. Played it for a bit and it's pretty cool. Difficult as all hell with a keyboard, though. #12

I won a copy of Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box for Steam last night and played for a bit a couple minutes ago. Fun as hell.

Horror Talk / Re: What did you all think of the conjuring?August 02, 2013, 11:53:00 PM
At this point, I likely won't support this movie monetarily. I'll likely wait to watch it. At least until it's on one of the movie channels. Mostly because there are other movies on my "To See List" that are a higher priority for me.

Horror Talk / Re: Curse of Chucky (2013)August 02, 2013, 11:46:34 PM
Really not sure why that's a Red Band trailer considering that it's not up to par with the other Red Band Trailers I've seen (at least in terms of language and overall content.) Aside from looking really weird in some areas, I like the overall design Chucky has. Trailer looks pretty decent as well. I'll definitely give this a watch.
