Misfit teenager Carrie White has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother, Margaret. After her father's sudden death, Carrie finds herself contending with the challenges of attending public high school, a bullying scandal, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.
I'm not familiar with the book so I don't know what parts might be close to it. I appreciated that they were able to modernise the story without being too woke. Thankfully it's not word for word of previous movies either which I often I think is lazy
I don't know how close this adaptation is to the original source material (since I don't read books), but there's a little too much extra stuff going on in the plot for my liking. With that being said, this was better than what I was anticipating.
