Cut and Run is an entertaining flick which has pumping 80's action theme music, some gory kills and Michael Berryman jumping out of nowhere on multiple occasions like some sort of crazed jungle slasher. If you were always put off by Cannibal Holocaust because of its disturbing aspects of cannibalism and rape, Cut and Run is the perfect alternative as it doesn't really have much of that stuff.

Have you ever had the chance to see this action/horror jungle flick?

Only thing I've seen of Deodato's has been Ultimo mondo cannibale (1977), also known as Jungle Holocaust. I liked Sergio Martino's La montagna del dio cannibale (1978), or Mountain of the Cannibal God, more.

At least both of the above movies were better than the founder of the sub-genre, Il paese del sesso selvaggio (1972), or Man from Deep River. Talk about a movie that's hard to get through.

That said, this film is one I've known about for quite some time, so I'm happy to see that it appears a decent flick.

Very surprising then that you haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust, considering the impact it has had on the genre.

Indeed - it's been on my "to-see" list for years (and I mean years - I started the list back in 2009, and that was one of the original movies on it), just haven't gotten to it. In part, it's because I've been trying to watch the cannibal movies in order of release, which is why I started with Man from Deep River.

Not sure I'm expecting to like Cannibal Holocaust when I do see it, but it will certainly be nice after all this time.

Still haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust, but at least I got my review for this one up.  [*laugh*]
