Batman Returns (1992)
Review by Bradley Frohloff

The first Batman movie directed by Tim Burton is the first movie that I ever recall watching in a theatre. I would have been about 5 years old at the time, maybe closer to 6. Anyhoo, I think it's worth mentioning as it has that special childhood attachment to me.
This sequel is pretty good. I also saw this in the theatres at a young age and it still retains that dark, gothic tone that the first movie had, though this time there is a bit of a, let's call it, a goofiness to this movie. I don't know if it's because there's a bunch of circus freaks running around or what but there's a bit of a comical aspect to this one that wasn't as noticeable in the first. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just a little different.
The movie is well-acted with great music and the action is quite exciting for a movie that is geared towards being family-friendly. I'm not a huge superhero fan, but I do really enjoy the first two Batman movies in this particular series. Michael Keaton will always be THE Batman to me, no matter how much attention other entries receive.
