He's Out There (2018)

This wasn't a bad movie, but I felt it was trying too hard to force a fresh story yet still ended up resulting in something that was quite generic and bland. In terms of kills, there's only one or two that were decent but they were over so quickly. The masked killer is okay but nothing about his appearance or backstory was all that special to me.
The movie focused a little too much on the little girls being scared and running around the house. And the thing that I could not stop thinking about was how the movie never really used silence at all. Outside of maybe a few of the opening scenes, there seemed to always be some sort of ominous music playing in the background. It seemed like a lack of creative touch that just irked me plenty.
Despite a minimal cast, the acting is quite good. There are a few creepy scenes, though nothing all the memorable. It's nice to see slasher movies making a comeback, this is an okay movie to waste some time with but it's not good enough to demand repeat viewings.
