Double Date (2017)
Review by Bradley Frohloff

I received a $10 discount coupon to spend at my local movie rental kiosk and since I didn't care to watch any mainstream movies that I could eventually catch at anytime on television, I decided to check this flick out despite not having heard a single thing about it.
The movie opens with a surprisingly intense and relentless stabbing sequence and then spends the majority of its runtime with its quirky, but fairly typical english humour until you arrive to its crazy and dark finale. It has a fairly good presentation for a low budget movie which is carried mainly by its cast who do well but falls short of any breakout performances. I'm not sure if it was a DVD problem or if it was the movie itself, but there were certain scenes which seemed to echo the dialogue and this became a bit of a distraction at times.
Double Date has some giggles and a couple of crazy scenes, but as a whole it's only an okay movie. I'd recommend checking it out if you're struggling for something to watch but it's not begging for a re-watch anytime soon.
