From Beyond (1986)
Review by Bradley Frohloff

Ah, the 80's were a golden era for horror and practical special effects and From Beyond is one of the more prime examples of this. While there are some questionable effects, the majority of them are slimetastically awesome. Visual boundaries are pushed quite hard, similarly to a movie like The Thing but substitutes length and suspense for a shorter movie with better pacing.
As time passes, this movie has probably lost some of its disturbing tone and transitioned to be little more campy now but that doesn't matter too much, it's still an entertaining movie with impressive gory effects.
