Through the use of set designs and grainy filters, the movie does a good job of imitating a movie that was filmed decades ago. I always enjoy Tom Noonan, so his presence is welcomed as an intriguing character in the movie. The main house that the movie takes place in was quite creepy, though I feel that there was an opportunity to use more of the house than what we get to see in the movie.
The House Of The Devil is a good, suspenseful movie but moves at a slow, slow pace. If you can overcome that obstacle, you're sure to enjoy this retro-themed horror flick.
