Tomb Raider

street date was broken in australia so i have it and have finished it. it's really good.

basically take the action adventure parts of uncharted. throw in the item upgrade system and extra objectives of the batman games and some very minor rpg elements and you get a pretty good idea of what you are in for on the gameplay side.

the story main is ok. nothing overly special though. what is surprising is the amount of back story. they put in a bit of history around the island you explore. and the voice acting helps a lot.

the shooting works well though i am a little dissapointed you can't blind fire though.

exploring is good though annoying that you have to backtrack with some of the upgrades to get everything.

the game looks great. though some animation is off. one stuck out in my head. when climbing rock walls with the climbing ax and you go to jump right onto something. lara pulls the ax out of the wall and spiderman sticks there. looks kinda stupid and made me laugh. something that stands out for good reasons are some of the death animations. fucking burtal.

overall. i really enjoyed it. beat it in about 9 hours though i didn't do much of the extra stuff. (finding relics, documents and raiding tombs.) i still think uncharted 2 and 3 are better. but tomb raider isn't far off at all.

It was sort of needed. The earlier tomb raider games were fun for the ps1 but the others took the franchis down hill fast in my opinion.  Thanks for the info  [*thumbsup*]
