Random Bullshit / Re: Valentine's Day

It's supposed to snow kind of bad here on Valentine's Day, so I'll probably just break up with my girlfriend tomorrow so I won't have to worry about not being able to see her on Thursday.

The Passion of Joan of Arc isn't really considered a horror movie, but watching Joan of Arc being tormented psychologically and the buttload of close-up shots of the court members was pretty terrifying for me. Not to mention that the film itself was figured lost for years until it was found in a mental institution.

I don't see how it's particularly important. It's not really like the pope has any weight on the lives/opinions of secular people (nor most casual Catholic people, to be honest). He's just kind of there, like a novelty lamp that sits on a throne and hates gay people.

Aside from the makeup effects, I think Hellraiser is kind of shit.

I also don't really care for the original Evil Dead, but I do respect it for inspiring Peter Jackson to make Braindead/Dead Alive.

As for more recent films, it boggles my mind that a lot of people liked The Loved Ones.

Does the pope get paid for being the pope? I've been looking for a job.

I thought Sinister kicked ass (and I went in not expecting to like it). Ethan Hawke is great in the lead role and James Ransone is funny as the cop. The snuff footage is creepy and the ending pulls no punches.

Other recent ones worthy of mention are Kill List, Pontypool, The House of the Devil, and Tucker & Dale.

The very early, short episodes that establish the story are great and creepy (Entries #1 and #6 are particularly pants-wetting). The newer ones are kind of boring and slow, probably since a lot of them are pushing 10 minutes or more.

The Sacrament has me torn since I'm a fan of Ti West but not big on Eli Roth.

Also, I'm excited about The Host 2.

I go back and forth on my favourite a lot, but I'm pretty 100% certain it's Brain Dead (aka Dead Alive). I've always liked my horror with a side order of comedy and this is the movie that does it best. It's a blast.

This.

So no one saw VHS? I can't be the only one who got nauseous just watching it. It got better once the individual stories kicked in...
But still, it had nothing more for me. The other tapes were weird, but not scary or disturbing. The storyline just didn't make any sense to me.

I'm with you 100% on this, V/H/S was garbage.

The Steam winter & summer sales always happen during breaks from school. Then I waste way too much money on cheap games that I can play for a month or so before school starts back up and prevents me from having fun.

***SPOILER***

I'm not really invested in this show, but I must say I was never happier than when they killed off Dale in season 2. The expression on his face always looked like someone had just farted near him.

I enjoy it. I have it on bluray. Tom Noonan is a favourite of mine.

Very cool, I can also make those three statements.

And I still haven't seen Halloween 3, but I love Tom Atkins.

Sounds like it could be interesting. I loved the book ("Guts," "The Nightmare Box," and "Hot Potting" are the standouts for me).
