Smackdown needs to be cancelled already. I think Friday there was maybe 10 minutes of actual shit and the rest was 1 hour 50 minutes of RAW replays.
They do that every year around this time. Smackdown's problems come from being pre-taped and spoilers hitting the internet. Why watch a show when you know how it's going to end?

The Hayter situation is an odd one. Apparently, he wasn't even asked to come back. He was talking to one of the people that works on the game and asked if he'd be needed to reprise the role. The guy was like, "nope." and that was that. Then in a recent interview, Hideo Kojima said that he didn't call Hayter back to play the role because he "wanted to take the series in a new direction." that, despite the fact that the Japanese voice actor is the same for Snake as it as been for the entirety of the series.

Video Games / Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
April 06, 2013, 05:42:23 PM
So the trailer to the new MGS game debuted about a week or so ago and it finally answered a lot of questions people had. For those unaware, last year, Hideo Kojima debuted a new entry into the game titled "Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes" which furthers the story of Big Boss. The game was to be open world, which is breaking the norm a bit for the mostly linear stage design of the series past. Months later, a mysterious trailer debuted at the Spike Video Game Awards titled "The Phantom Pain" by a "new" game studio called "Moby Dick Studios." Once that trailer was shown, people immediately got that it was a MGS game, but the question was, "Does that mean Ground Zeroes is off?" Well, after the debut of MGS V: The Phantom Pain, that answer is, "no." It seems that they'll be released separately, but together they make up MGS V. Also interesting to note that they'll be released on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. A next gen release is speculated, but not confirmed.

Here's the trailer:

Honestly, I'm super excited about this game. I'm a huge Metal Gear fan and probably one of the few that wasn't disappointed in MGS 4. When the demo video for Ground Zeroes was released, Kojima already had my money. Then the trailer for the Phantom Pain emerged and my money was thrown at my computer, but that didn't seem to work. Anyways....From a visual stand point, MGS V looks fantastic. Though it should be noted that the computer running the game/that put the trailer together is comparable to a 360/PS3, but will be dialed back a bit to run as flawlessly as possible. Thus far, there's one thing that's got me bummed: David Hayter won't be returning.

Enough rambling. Anyone else looking forward to this? Thoughts?

Decent song, I guess. Not really into Garbage and likely won't be pursuing them any further. Really only listening to it because it was in the MGS V trailer (which is really awesome.)

I had Lucky Louie on my "To Watch List" but I polished that off the other night thanks to HBO on Demand. Only other thing I can think of right now that I'm mildly interested in is the Wire. Other than that......meeeeh.

Anyone feeling the hype for Wrestlemania? I don't really find myself anticipating it.
Not really, the card is pretty weak to be honest. Only match that has my interest is Taker vs Punk.

Just read the post I replied to. Wow, botched that. Screamers is what I was referring to. Scanners was meh, I agree. Really only worth it for the head explosion and the finale. Other than that, it's forgettable.

When you put it like that, that'd make what Merle did seem even more worth while. Giving Daryl that one moment where he knows that Merle put someone else before himself. That is, of course, providing they don't kill Daryl off too.

Sure, I'd count Stand-Up specials. Hell, I watched one the other day.

Patrice O'Neal: Elephant in the Room

Holy fuck, Patrice is fucking hilarious. I knew that prior to watching this special as before his passing, he was a regular on the Opie and Anthony show. From start to finish, I was in tears laughing. He's not just funny, but he's also very thought provoking in his views on men, women, and relationships. This special is definitely a classic and one I can see myself watching multiple times. I'd whole heatedly recommend this one.

It's kind of what I was saying earlier in the thread. This season seems to be all about redemption. In the way Merle went out, he was redeeming himself and ultimately, he sacrificed himself in order to give the Prison group a better chance at surviving against the Woodbury group. What makes that moment bittersweet is no one in the prison group, more specifically Daryl, won't know of his sacrifice.

Merle was one of the best things on the show now he is gone. This show could benefit from him, Shane and a couple other characters that brought life to the show.
I agree. Though, there's still a lot of fleshing out being done. Seems Rick has finally snapped out of his shit, Michonne had some nice moments with Merle, Carol is nutting up, etc. Some really good moments from last night's episode. Also, the Governor just being animalistic as fuck in his beat down of Merle was pretty terrifying.

Well, they kinda did that too......Ben's gone.

But yeah, R.I.P Merle. Also, there was a pretty nice nod to Dawn of the Dead in last night's episode.  [*thumbsup*]
