Video Games / Re: What consoles do you own?
April 27, 2013, 07:49:41 PM
At the moment, I don't own any. Waiting for the next gen consoles to come out so the prices on the current gen (PS3/360) get reduced so I can pick one up. Used to have a 360, like it. But it always irked me that you had to pay for online where as you didn't with PS3.

His matches are the only ones worth watching, really. Kinda sad that he's all that remains of the "spectacle" that was Wrestlemania. The thing I'm curious about is whether or not Extreme Rules will be the better PPV of the year again like it has been for the past few years.

Currently listening to "God is Dead?" by Black Sabbath

Holy fucking shit, this song is awesome. Had no idea they were releasing a new album until just a couple minutes ago. Can't wait, I need this album in my life right the hell now.  [*evil*]

Yeah, it's definitely a bummer. A lot of people are convinced the guy that does the voice of Snake in the trailer is Kiefer Sutherland which, if true, is interesting to say the least. I'm not a huge fan of his, but eh. There's still plenty of time left for Kojima to reconsider. Hopefully he will. Thought, Hayter not being in won't be a deal breaker. Still very much interested in this game.

In the end, though, I think he got his redemption. Which kind of made his death more bearable than Dale's death in season 2. Still not cool with that.  [*no*]

The Thing

Not the Carpenter one, the prequel. I heard it was bad and wanted to see just how bad. On a scale from 1 to 10 on the terrible scale, it's about an 8. This is one failed to capture the feeling of Carpenter's film. Whereas that had tension and kept me guessing what would happen next, this one was predictable from start to finish. They tried to throw red herrings out there, but the outcome was obvious each time. The only moment I thought was relatively interesting was the pre/mid credit scenes that was basically the opening to the Carpenter film. That's really the only positive thing I can say about the movie. The effects sucked, the acting and characters were meh. This movie is just one big ball of meh.

Thankfully the Carpenter classic is on demand. Think I'mma go watch that and try to purge this turd from my memory.

4 years in a row. The first HBK/Taker match really had my friends and I on the edge of our seats with how good it was.

And yeah the PPV blew. Hell even the build up to it was weak. Rock and Cena played it way too safe in promos, the Del Rio acting like Swagger was horrible to watch. The big show can we trust him shit was obvious. No! You can't! Punk basically handled most of the promo work with Taker just grumbling how Punk will pay! Brock hasn't said a word in over 8 months. I just skipped Rybacks match.
You know, the Rock/Cena shit the week before Wrestlemania should have been on the same week of the PPV. It was actually a fitting end that would lead up to the PPV. Their solo promos were just eh. As far as Punk vs Taker, Taker played his part and Punk played his. Punk doing what he did pissed off a lot of the members of the IWC, so I got a kick out of it. As for Henry and Ryback, I had no expectations. But after the whole "Hall of Pain" thing last year, I'm a Henry fan. Ryback, despite WWE's beliefs, isn't over. It's his, "FEED ME MORE!" chant that's over. People like saying it, but they hate him. Go figure.

As far as Brock goes, I love him. He doesn't have to talk for me to like him. But if he went on a tirade like he did after he beat the shit out of Frank Mir in UFC, that would make me love him even more. He's the kinda guy that people are torn on. They either love him or want to pay to see him get beat up.

That's what I mean - everyone wanted that bitch dead, so when it finally happened, it was much more satisfying than when the racist pig got his.  [*winkgrin*]

But I see what you're saying.
You know what, I've learned to deal with racism. Everyone is racial, whether they want to admit it or not. Merle being racist? Fine, whatever. He had some redeeming qualities that made him an endearing character and that's why people rooted for him. That and they hoped a bit of Daryl rubbed off on him. And in the end, it did. Racist or not, he let the black chick go and gave the group a fighting chance. That's what made him a great character. Michael Rooker was the perfect choice for Merle.

I'm not saying that Merle and Milton weren't important characters this season, I'm just saying that compared to others, they were more like supporting cast. Andrea's death had much more of an impact and much more meaning, imo.
I don't agree with that, at least, not fully. Milton, I'll give you. But Merle? Nah. When Merle's hand was revealed in Season 1, from that point on people were wondering, "Is he going to show back up?" But for Andrea, I can't speak for everyone, but I fucking HATED her as a character. Everytime she was on screen I was hoping it would cut to another scene. But for every episode Merle wasn't on, I was wondering when or if he'd show up. So for me, his death was a much bigger loss from a fan standpoint where as Andrea's death simply had my singing, "Nana na na. Nana na na. Hey hey hey. Goodbye." Also doesn't hurt that I'm interested to see how Daryl progresses over time knowing that his brother became a walker and that he was the one that had to put him down.

So for me, Merle had a bigger impact than Andrea, who became major player. Kinda funny.

I heard G.I Joe: Retaliation was a dumb, fun action flick and that if you look at it like that, it's fine. It was surprising to hear, especially from you, that the most endearing character is Channing Tatum. Also kinda funny considering most people hope to see him die in movies and the one he does die in, people are like, "Fuck.....that sucks!"

ok so no one has said this yet... that raw crowd made it one of the best raws in ages
And so far, no one has mentioned how much Wrestlemania has sucked. So I'll be the first, it sucked......really bad. Only match worth a damn was Undertaker vs Punk. Which kinda proves that the only match worth watching at Mania is a Taker match. Three years in a row that's been the case. Fuck, I'm glad I didn't pay to watch that garbage.

Nah, I didn't think the season 3 finale was lackluster at all. Thing is, if they keep having hell break loose and main characters dropping left and right at the end of a season, it's going to get stale.

But main characters DID drop off at seasons end. We lost Andrea, Merle, Milton and Ben! Good god man we lost BEN!!!

Cancel the series now. [*browwink*]
What I mean is a mass slaughter like at the end of season 2. In comparison, Season 3 had less main character deaths. Also, I cry myself to sleep every night due to Ben's death. R.I.P Ben.  [*cry*]

any one else find the season finally sort of lack luster?

compared with season 2 when all hell broke lose at the farm, i sort of found this one dull.

Te finale gave us a bit of a bitter sweet ending because or now, the prison group can finally relax for a moment. Though, the Governor could pop back up at any time during season 4, so he's still very much a threat. I like it.
