Music / Re: Last Song You Listened To

Starting with the song I previously posted, I felt kind of inspired to do a nostalgia hit list, containing songs that I used to (and mostly still do) listen to a lot back during my high school days or thereabouts (basically anything over 15 years ago).

Next up is a track way ahead of its time and I'm pretty sure John Travolta chucked a tanty when it came out in the early 90's. I used to spin it a fair few times since the mid-late 90's. Mike Patton is a bit hit and miss with me, but Mr Bungle is one of his more interesting acts, in my opinion.

Artist: Mr Bungle
Song: Travolta (Quote Unquote)

He's got an itch but nothing with which to scratch the itch
So wish it away
With his mouth sewn shut, he still shakes his butt
'cause he's Hitler and Swayze and Trump and... Travolta

Believe it or not, I do have a listen to most of the songs you post.

Anyhoo, thought I should contribute...

Re-visiting a favourite from a German band that I used to listen to a bit back during my graduation year (2001).

Band: Waterdown
Song: June

How can you dance when my legs are bleeding?
And how can you whisper when I feel like screaming?
This is the perfect tragedy
This is sugar-coated madness dear

Horror Talk / Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
« on: August 18, 2019, 11:14:11 PM »
The return of Ed and Lorraine Warren from The Conjuring helps add some stability and depth to what is typically a formulaic experience of jump scare after jump scare. While it doesn't take any big leaps, this third Annabelle movie is as good if not slightly better than the others.

Have you got anything to say about Annabelle Comes Home?

Other Movies / Blast (1997)
« on: August 18, 2019, 09:49:52 PM »
A stellar example of what a generic, mediocre movie is. It boasts a decent cast but none of them really do all that much to make this movie worth watching. A flat script which contains nothing all the memorable. While I wasn't expecting anything special from Blast, I was left rather underwhelmed and somewhat disappointed.

Have you seen this generic action flick?

Horror Talk / Brightburn (2019)
« on: August 18, 2019, 04:32:10 PM »
I went into this movie feeling rather tepid, but ended up enjoying it more than I could have imagined. Brightburn is a pretty good alternative for horror fans that don't care for all the Marvel Avenger bullshit out there.

What did you think of it?

Horror Talk / Crawl (2019)
« on: August 18, 2019, 04:05:47 PM »
Crawl is a fairly intense, non-stop thrill-ride with plenty of alligator encounters to keep you on your toes. And while sometimes I'd rather the humans get eaten in a movie like this, in this particular case I was truly rooting for the father and daughter to survive, and especially the dog.

Did you enjoy this movie?

Other Movies / Road House (1989)

Road House is a pretty fun time for a serious late 80's action flick. And if you didn't have a good time watching Road House, well... like Dalton says in the movie, "You're too stupid to have a good time!".
