Other Movies / Bloodsport II: The Next Kumite (1996)
December 09, 2019, 02:58:19 PM
While Bloodsport II isn't necessarily a bad movie, there's a whole lot about it that feels like a cheap imitation of the original movie. The characters are quite bland, the return of Daniel Gibb is a welcome sight but can only offer a few chuckles along the way.

Do you enjoy this sequel?

Other Movies / The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)

A well-made film with some unexpected turns and is bolstered by Mike Patton's soundtrack. Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling put in commendable performances with a few potentially tear-jerker moments to be had dependent on how invested you become into the characters and their tribulations.

Horror Talk / The Furies (2019)
November 09, 2019, 10:56:10 AM
I just watched this in a local theatre last night. The Furies is a hardcore, gritty slasher flick. It's not perfect but it has a lot of gory kills and and some interesting plot developments that make the experience a little more unique than you'd expect.

What have you got to say about this slasher flick?

Horror Talk / House of 1000 Corpses (2003)

Rob Zombie's first directorial effort does have its flaws, but it's also quite a unique experience with some really enjoyable characters, most notably Captain Spaulding. Overall, I thought there was a decent amount of fun and entertainment within this flick.

Are you a fan of House of 1000 Corpses?

Other Movies / Joker (2019)
October 22, 2019, 01:00:46 PM
Joker is a stunningly impressive looking movie with great performances by Joaquin Phoenix and its supporting cast. While the deaths are few, there are surprising levels of violence in the film and it boasts a conclusion that will not soon be forgotten.

What did you think of it?

Horror Talk / Robert (2015)
October 22, 2019, 12:51:43 PM
A low budget production with mediocre acting that pales in comparison to most other killer doll movies out there.

Have any of you bothered to watch Robert?

Horror Talk / The Ice Cream Truck (2017)

The production quality is okay, but the movie is written poorly and the killer is rather dull.

Has anyone else seen The Ice Cream Truck?

Horror Talk / Don't Look (2018)
October 01, 2019, 02:00:13 AM
This is supposedly a throwback slasher movie... I say, throw it back in the DVD bin and don't bother with it. It's a poor movie with mediocre acting, generic killer and a script that could have been written on the back of a restaurant menu.

Have you bothered to watch Don't Look?

Other Movies / Creed II (2018)
October 01, 2019, 01:53:21 AM
Creed II is okay enough because of the familiar characters, but it certainly feels like a less captivating clone of Rocky IV... which had better music, a better training montage and ultimately a more exciting finale.

Horror Talk / Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019)
October 01, 2019, 01:50:46 AM
I didn't really care for this as it reeked of "we want it to be creepy" but also "we want that family-friendly rating". There's a few creepy moments but Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark will most likely appeal to younger audiences and unless you typically dig other PG-13 horror movies or have an interest in horror movies with a fantasy aspect to them, I doubt you'll love it either.

What have you got to say about this movie?

Horror Talk / Tamara (2005)
September 26, 2019, 11:45:59 AM
Although seasoned horror veterans won't find much to be scared of while watching this generic teen horror movie, I personally was scared of cumming in my pants every time Jenna Dewan strutted her sexy ass on the screen in those skimpy skirts.

What did you think of Tamara?

Other Movies / Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
September 20, 2019, 12:41:51 AM
To me, it basically felt like I was watching Taken (2008) but with less time spent tracking down the girl and more time spent exacting revenge on the bad guys. I got pretty much what I was expecting out of the movie. The violence can be jaw-dropping, but the plot feels somewhat generic.

What have you got to say about Rambo: Last Blood?
