Horror Talk / Us (2019)
« on: April 05, 2019, 11:23:42 AM »
"Us" is quite an original movie that I moderately enjoyed. I feel there is potentially room for greater appreciation upon a later re-watch once I am able to obtain answers to some of the questions that the movie has left me with.

What are your thoughts on Jordan Peele's sophomore horror flick?

Horror Talk / Monster Man (2003)
« on: March 22, 2019, 02:07:23 PM »
Monster Man is funny, ridiculous with a few gross situations. Watch it with a bunch of friends who also enjoy silly horror flicks and you're sure to have a good time.

What do you think about it?

Other Movies / Day of the Warrior (1996)
« on: March 22, 2019, 01:46:40 PM »
If I were a young teenager again, I could definitely see myself wrecking a few pairs of pants while watching this movie. It's full of big tits, cheesy lines and some people get blown up along the way. I'd watch it again, but only for the big titties. Nothing else about the movie is special enough to warrant a repeat viewing.

Have you any thoughts about Day of the Warrior?

Other Movies / Miami Connection (1987)
« on: March 18, 2019, 12:46:37 AM »
There's some decent action at the beginning and end but I found a big chunk of the movie to be quite dull. There is some humour to be had in the silliness of everything so I think there is potential for me to enjoy it more when I next decide to give it a spin.

Are you a fan of Miami Connection?

Other Movies / The Marine (2006)
« on: March 14, 2019, 04:33:23 PM »
I got about as much as I was expecting out of this flick; a bunch of dudes getting chased after and beaten up with a few chuckles to boot. It's not bad if you just want 90 minutes of a brain-dead action movie but there's certainly nothing special or unique about this action flick.

What did you think of The Marine?

Horror Talk / Carrie (2002)
« on: March 09, 2019, 03:19:00 AM »
This television remake has some heart and it feels as though they are genuinely trying to do something extra with it rather than just shamelessly copying the original movie. However, this product is inferior in most aspects to the original. A part of that is due to this version being a smaller production, but another part of that is Brian de Palma being a tough director to compete against.

Horror Talk / Greta (2018)
« on: March 08, 2019, 04:11:52 PM »
Greta is an okay movie with commendable performances from its lead actresses. The story is intriguing but loses some steam as it progresses to a fairly generic and borderline silly finale.

Have you any thoughts on this stalker flick?

Horror Talk / Unmasked: Part 25 (1989)
« on: January 12, 2019, 03:37:06 PM »
Unmasked Part 25 is silly, a little funny and is a surprisingly decent slasher flick if you can put up with some annoying or questionable acting that is cleverly hidden by the nature of this type of movie. It's definitely an overlooked movie that I'd recommend to any slasher fans or for people who just love unusual, oddball type of movies.

What did you think of it?

Horror Talk / Suspiria (2018)
« on: December 24, 2018, 02:19:08 PM »
This remake of Suspiria is a long-ass movie, and I feel as though it runs that long out of desire rather than necessity. Because of this, there are way too many gaps between exciting scenes that resulted in plenty of boredom on my end. If I was apple to get into the characters, I would have had a better viewing experience but the only actor that really did anything for me with their character was Tilda Swinton.

What did you think of this remake?

Other Movies / Skyscraper (1996)
« on: December 24, 2018, 11:21:30 AM »
It's basically Die Hard but with a big-titted blonde that can't act (but sure captivates me with her tittays). It's plenty ridiculous but it doesn't have enough laugh-out-loud moments to be put alongside other greats from the "so bad they're good" category.

What have you got to say about Skyscraper?

Other Movies / To the Limit (1995)
« on: December 19, 2018, 02:28:57 PM »
Unless you enjoy Anna Nicole Smith's big tits (of which I do [*browwink*]), there's not much else worth sticking around for with this uninspired, below average, erotic action/thriller flick.

Errr, anyone else have anything to say for this movie?

Horror Talk / Bad Apples (2018)
« on: December 19, 2018, 02:08:40 PM »
Creepy masks... and that's about all it has going for it. It's basically a shittier version of The Strangers (2008).

Do you have any thoughts on Bad Apples?

Horror Talk / The Love Witch (2016)
« on: December 09, 2018, 01:22:58 AM »
This movie is definitely not for everyone, and I'd dare say that many men would struggle with it with its emphasis on love and romance. It has a more authentic depiction of witchcraft, which may come off as a little boring to those that enjoy a more traditional type of witch movie.

What are your thoughts on The Love Witch?

Horror Talk / Up Against Amanda (2000)
« on: December 09, 2018, 12:44:14 AM »
Justine Priestly is cute enough but the movie suffers from an overall low quality production. The cast of no-names do okay but there's not a whole lot in the way of any special or memorable scenes.

Any thoughts on this bunny boiler flick?
