Horror Talk / Event Horizon (1997)
January 24, 2018, 11:55:33 PM
Event Horizon builds intrigue and has an exciting finish to the movie. It's a little too spacey and has more CGI than I would normally prefer but overall it was a decent watch for me.

Horror Talk / It Follows (2014)
January 23, 2018, 11:54:43 PM
At a time where it seemed like a remake was being churned out left, right and center, It Follows comes through with something more original when the genre was yearning for it.

The Terminator is a great action film for its time although the sequel trumps it in pretty much every single aspect.

Horror Talk / Hellraiser (1987)
January 22, 2018, 12:28:55 AM
Hellraiser was a groundbreaking horror movie for its time which was a welcome alternative to the myriad of cheap 80's slasher films that continued to clog up the horror pipeline.

Horror Talk / Friday The 13th (1980)
January 19, 2018, 12:59:54 AM
I understand that the original Friday The 13th is a staple on the slasher genre but I've never particularly found it to be special enough to call it a great movie.

Horror Talk / Laid To Rest (2009)
January 17, 2018, 11:27:40 PM
Laid To Rest understands its demographic well for a slasher movie of its era. It's a fast-paced adrenaline ride of terror with extremely violent kill sequences.

Horror Talk / Orphan (2009)
January 17, 2018, 12:22:04 AM
Orphan is a well-acted, slow-burning thriller which carefully and meticulously builds itself up to a pretty decent plot twist.

Horror Talk / Rawhead Rex (1986)
January 15, 2018, 12:50:49 AM
Rawhead Rex is not really a good movie by normal standards. However, like many bad movies, it has gained somewhat of a cult following since it was panned pretty hard back in the 80's to the point where even its own writer, Clive Barker, had disowned it.

Other Movies / Extreme Force (2001)
January 14, 2018, 12:40:53 AM
If you've ever wanted to see what the Tong Po character from the Kickboxer series would look like as a good guy instead of a bad guy, Extreme Force is as close as you can come.

Horror Talk / It (2017)
January 10, 2018, 11:31:06 PM
I never thought it would be possible in this day and age for a movie to come along and get a perfect score from myself, especially since it's essentially a remake of an original that I hold near and dear to my heart, but this movie has managed to do it.

Horror Talk / Near Dark (1987)
January 09, 2018, 11:15:13 PM
Near Dark is a very different kind of vampire movie. There's no bats, garlic, crosses or stakes to be seen in this one.

Horror Talk / Halloween (1978)
January 06, 2018, 11:16:26 PM
I think Halloween is a very fine film, very enjoyable and very well made. There's just so many other films that I hold near and dear to my heart that in comparison to those, I am lacking the special feeling this film gives to most people.

What is your opinion of the original Halloween movie?
