Horror Talk / The Strangers (2008)
March 19, 2018, 11:25:04 PM
The Strangers is a tough movie to rate. On one hand you could say it's a unique movie full of dread. On the other hand, it feels hollow with its lack of motives and explanations.

Horror Talk / Bride Of Chucky (1998)
March 18, 2018, 11:42:49 PM
Bride Of Chucky has some creative kills, Tiffany is an okay character addition, though depending on your tolerance of Tilly's voice she could potentially drive you a little nuts. Chucky is still the life of this party but trades the dark tone of his character in exchange for more silliness.

Where do you rank this film in the Chucky franchise?

Horror Talk / The Howling (1981)
March 18, 2018, 04:35:02 AM
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of most werewolf movies. There are some good practical effect in this movie when there is werewolf action to be had on screen, and the movie is revered among many fans of the subgenre.

Other Movies / Street Fighter (1994)
March 16, 2018, 01:09:19 AM
There are no memorable fight scenes, there are way too many characters trying to share screen time and a lot of them do not do their characters justice. Street Fighter is a boring, convoluted action movie. If you think this is a good movie, you can lick my ass.

Horror Talk / Sssssss (1973)
March 16, 2018, 01:05:15 AM
For a movie that was made almost 50 years ago, it holds up incredibly well in terms of its appearance and doesn't look any older than some movies from the late 80's. With that being said, Sssssss is not particularly scary unless you have a great fear of snakes. It's a mildly entertaining movie, but probably not memorable enough to command repeat viewings.

Horror Talk / Dolls (1987)
March 16, 2018, 12:07:38 AM
There are characters you'll like, and characters you'll hate, and by the time the movie is over you'll be left satisfied with their fate. Dolls is a fun and cheesy slice of 80's horror.

Other Movies / Brawl In Cell Block 99 (2017)
March 13, 2018, 01:34:59 AM
Vince Vaughn steps away from his usual comedy roles and delivers an engaging performance in this crime thriller. Due to the pace of the film, the action and fight sequences can feel a little sparse but the excessive nature of some of the violence leaves a lasting impression.

Other Movies / What Happened To Monday (2017)
March 12, 2018, 12:54:05 AM
I'm not a huge fan of most futuristic, sci-fi action type movies but I can see What Happened To Monday being above average in its class. I'd recommend it to fans of a movie like Equilibrium.

Horror Talk / Leatherface (2017)
March 12, 2018, 12:24:04 AM
The movie is not completely terrible, but I feel a major disconnect between this movie and the Texas Chainsaw franchise. I mean, sure, it's got a guy who eventually kills people with a chainsaw and sews a face together but aside from that it just doesn't feel right.

Have you checked out Leatherface yet?

Horror Talk / Gingerclown (2013)
March 10, 2018, 04:50:56 PM
The movie looks very polished but falls way short of its potential. The creatures are mildly entertaining but they're not good enough to overshadow the terrible acting by the lead actors.

I was looking back on some of his old, controversial video updates and they do provide a good laugh.

Horror Talk / Neon Maniacs (1986)
March 09, 2018, 02:05:04 AM
Neon Maniacs is not a particularly good slasher movie or monster movie, but spliced together it makes for an interesting view and I think this would actually be a good candidate for a remake.

Horror Talk / Prom Night (1980)
March 08, 2018, 01:04:15 AM
The characters are developed a little better than most run-of-the-mill slasher flicks and this boasts a relatively young but strong lead in Jamie Lee Curtis. Also worth mentioning is the record it has held for the longest slasher chase scene in the history of film.

Other Movies / Mortal Kombat (1995)
March 07, 2018, 07:01:28 PM
Mortal Kombat is a decent example of how to translate a video game to the big screen. While it does have many flaws, it remains a fun and nostalgic experience for those who grew up with these video games.

Horror Talk / Insidious: The Last Key (2018)
March 05, 2018, 11:58:09 PM
Insidious: The Last Key is making bank, but the formula is starting to become stale. There are a few cleverly constructed scares but there are also a noticeable amount of cheap jump scares that are also placed randomly throughout.

Horror Talk / Playing With Dolls: Havoc (2017)
March 05, 2018, 11:45:18 AM
The cool killer mask is back once again to wreak some HAVOC. Low-budget slasher fans may find some enjoyment in this movie but it still has many problems which hold it back from being a decent movie.

Music / Fozzy
March 05, 2018, 09:46:52 AM
It's kind of amazing to see how far Chris Jericho has come as a rocker. I remember when I first saw Fozzy perform on RAW, when was that, like 15 years ago? And it seemed like his band was kind of a gimmick just for the show but he's now belting out some pretty decent tunes.

I saw Fozzy at a music festival a few years back, I wouldn't exactly say the performance was great, but it's more difficult to get the best sound at music festivals when you've got multiple bands sharing stages, equipment etc. The highlight was when Jericho was head-banging and ended up head-butting the microphone stand mid-song which took him out for a minute or two.

Horror Talk / Child's Play 3 (1991)
March 04, 2018, 12:23:55 PM
Child's Play 3 definitely isn't one of the best movies in the franchise but it still has our favourite killer doll wreaking havoc with the ever impressive voice acting by Brad Dourif.

Horror Talk / Maria Leonora Teresa (2014)
March 04, 2018, 12:35:32 AM
It has its fair share of absurdity in certain parts of the movie but there are also some really dark and disturbing sequences involving the dolls when they attack.

Horror Talk / Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015)
March 03, 2018, 02:38:11 AM
This entry into the Insidious franchise is about as good as the one before it. There are a few creepy scenes in the movie but not as consistent with them compared to the first movie.

What are your thoughts on Insidious: Chapter 3?
