Other Movies / Kickboxer 3: The Art Of War (1992)
April 09, 2018, 08:39:25 PM
There's a few less kicks and lot more guns in comparison to the previous two movies. There's no real memorable villain to take Tong Po's place but David Sloan and Xian have a good rapport as a buddy combo and do well enough to serve those that enjoyed the previous movie.

What do you think of this third entry into the series?

Horror Talk / Curse Of Chucky (2013)
April 07, 2018, 03:33:24 AM
This sixth film in the franchise manages to right the wrongful path that Seed Of Chucky had taken and brings back a darker, more sinister tone this time around. I'd say that this entry into the series is good enough to compete for the third best movie in the franchise to date, with the first two movies firmly parked in the top two spots.

Other Movies / American Ninja (1985)
April 06, 2018, 02:03:40 AM
While I feel that the sequel is a slightly better movie than this one in terms of pure entertainment value and fun, the original American Ninja is plenty enjoyable in its own right and is a movie that allows you to sit back and turn your brain off and engage in some typical 80's action.

Horror Talk / Maniac Cop 3: Badge Of Silence (1993)
April 06, 2018, 01:56:35 AM
Despite the mess that occurred behind the camera, where Bill Lustig didn't finish the movie and Joel Soisson (producer) had to finish the rest of the film himself, fans of the series should be content with the resulting product for this sequel.

Horror Talk / Death Machine (1994)
April 04, 2018, 12:54:25 PM
A killer robot on the loose, a psychotic Brad Dourif, cheesy 90's one-liners... there is a plenty to enjoy in this action-packed thrill-ride. Overall, this is a good movie with some decent actors in it. Most fans of action, sci-fi, horror movies should have fun with it.

Have you seen Death Machine?

Horror Talk / Mardi Gras Massacre (1978)
April 02, 2018, 01:38:34 PM
While it will never reach the level of popularity that movies in the "so bad they're good" category like The Room or Samurai Cop have reached as this movie moves at a slow pace and has a much more limited demographic, it's still enjoyable in a similar vein to those movies. Mardi Gras Massacre is a terrible film by normal standards, but everything that is so wrong with the movie is what makes it quite an enjoyable experience for me.

Other Movies / A Dangerous Place (1994)
April 02, 2018, 02:43:19 AM
You could make the case that it's trying to capitalize on the success of much more popular movies like the Karate Kid franchise but there's plenty of action in it to separate itself. My admiration of TJ Roberts' fighting skills and its shlocky 90's flavour of teen melodrama has me hooked on it.

Horror Talk / Bruiser (2000)
April 01, 2018, 12:06:02 PM
Bruiser could have been executed and acted better, but it is interesting to see George A. Romero take on a much different type of movie and I think the overall product serves well enough for the type of movie that it is.

What are your thoughts on Bruiser?

Horror Talk / Seed Of Chucky (2004)
March 31, 2018, 12:02:13 AM
This is the weakest movie of the franchise to date but despite all of the criticisms and its wrongful transition towards almost being more of a comedy than a horror movie, many fans of the series will still probably find the movie to be extremely watchable because there's still plenty of Chucky to be had.

Horror Talk / Wish Upon (2017)
March 30, 2018, 01:09:54 PM
This is your fairly standard teen-horror fare from this generation. The lead character makes wishes to get rich, get back at the popular girl and to even become the popular girl herself which sounds about as interesting as cutting my toe nails.

If you've seen Wish Upon, what did you think of it?

Horror Talk / Hardware (1990)
March 29, 2018, 07:50:32 AM
Hardware is a gritty piece of retro sci-fi horror. It blasts a cool industrial soundtrack of songs and unique theme music and also contains some gory deaths. The whole vibe of the movie takes me back to the glory days of VHS.

What did you think of this post-apocalyptic, killer robot flick?

Other Movies / Kickboxer (1989)
March 29, 2018, 07:43:36 AM
Kickboxer is a great martial arts revenge flick. It has cheesy 80's songs, a campy lead actor, but also has some heart to go along with entertaining fights and training sequences.

Are you a fan of this movie?

Horror Talk / Veronica (2017)
March 26, 2018, 01:23:41 AM
There were some internet articles circulating about this movie, boasting how scary it was and how people had to stop playing the movie because of this. I wonder exactly who wrote these articles... I definitely don't agree with their sentiments.

Horror Talk / The Ritual (2017)
March 26, 2018, 12:58:43 AM
This movie stands up quite well for a Netflix production. It's acted well enough and has decent scares but doesn't really excel in any particular area to command a desire to re-watch anytime soon.

Have you checked out The Ritual yet?

Other Movies / Drive (2011)
March 25, 2018, 03:42:46 AM
Drive tells its story and develops strong characters with very little dialogue, accompanied with a soundtrack that fits each scene perfectly.

Horror Talk / The Tripper (2006)
March 24, 2018, 03:08:39 AM
The Tripper gets off to a good start with a gory kill scene but after that it becomes a bumpy ride, suffering from some pacing issues and annoying characters until it picks up again toward the end.

Horror Talk / The Exorcist III (1990)
March 24, 2018, 02:51:49 AM
This is a huge improvement over the dreadful second movie in the series. I think this movie has quite a lot of creepy moments and contains one of the best jump scares in horror history.

Do you enjoy this third entry into the Exorcist series?

Television / Cobra Kai
March 23, 2018, 01:50:00 PM
Anyone else kind of interested in this? At first when I heard about it I thought it would be kind of shit but I think it might turn out okay, seems to be some humorous jabs to the original movie and the more time passes by I want Johnny to fuck Daniel up.

Plus, I'm all for JOHN KREESE'S KARATE!!!  [*hehehmm*]

Other Movies / Damage (2009)
March 22, 2018, 02:52:10 AM
Damage has a surprising touch of humanity and emotion in it that is often absent in movies that center around grown men beating the shit out of each other for money. It's not going to win any oscars but I believe that it does overachieve in multiple aspects for its intended audience.

Horror Talk / The Strangers: Prey At Night (2018)
March 20, 2018, 12:32:44 AM
The Strangers: Prey At Night does not really do anything to reinvent the slasher genre, it just goes balls out for stalk and slash with its open environment, holding back very few punches. Its retro-based soundtrack and few noticeable homages to older movies, such as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, should hearken you decades back to when the slasher genre was once booming.
