Horror Talk / May (2002)
May 21, 2018, 01:49:26 AM
May is a movie that rests heavily on its main character. Angela Bettis puts in a commendable performance as the odd and extremely introverted title character. For a movie of such a low budget, I feel that May overachieves.

Horror Talk / Lorna the Exorcist (1974)
May 20, 2018, 11:54:03 AM
Toeing a fine line between horror and p0rn, Lorna the Exorcist has enough pubic hair licking to satisfy the neediest of exploitation fans. It's definitely not for everyone but I found that its flaws were a great part of its charm and if I could call it anything, it was an experience to behold.

Has anyone else ever seen it?

Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker isn't a fantastic movie, but it does deserve more attention than what it receives if only for being a much different type of 80's slasher film than the standard maniac in a mask formula.

Have you ever seen it?

Horror Talk / Hellraiser: Judgment (2018)
May 11, 2018, 02:22:52 PM
Hellraiser: Judgment surely isn't going to win over fans who are going into it with the expectations of something that can rival the first two movies, but I feel that this movie competes well against many of the other movies in the franchise.

Have you managed to check out this new entry in the Hellraiser franchise?

Other Movies / Bloodsport (1988)
May 10, 2018, 11:43:33 AM
I find that Jean-Claude Van Damme's two best films both came from early in his career, one is Kickboxer and the other is Bloodsport. There are some fondly cheesy tunes and some corny acting at times, including from Van Damme, but it is all a part of its charm and why it's such an enjoyable film.

Horror Talk / Class Of 1984 (1982)
May 07, 2018, 10:59:29 AM
Class Of 1984 is an underrated gem of the 80's that I believe has still gone unseen by many people who would probably dig it. It has interesting characters and enough violence to appease those who are in it for some bloody action.

Horror Talk / Cult Of Chucky (2017)
May 03, 2018, 09:51:57 AM
Cult Of Chucky may be the most intricate movie in the series, and it's hard to tell at this point if it's for the better. It's better than Seed Of Chucky, but I'm not sure if I can say that it is definitely better than any other movie in the franchise at this time.

Have you seen Cult Of Chucky yet?

Other Movies / Donnie Darko (2001)
May 03, 2018, 09:03:43 AM
I don't completely 100% understand every detail of this movie. I'm not convinced that anyone does, not even the writer/director. With that being said, I don't think you need to fully understand a movie to have a great experience with it. It is a movie unlike any other.

What are your thoughts on Donnie Darko?

Other Movies / Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor (1994)
April 29, 2018, 12:03:22 PM
The inclusion of a fighting tournament steers the franchise back towards being a martial arts movie and the fight scenes in this movie are actually decent for a low-budget flick from the 90's but the main returning characters of David Sloan and Tong Po feel like cheap replications of themselves and that is only one of the many problems that this movie has.

Have you watched enough of the series to have watched Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor?

It doesn't quite pack the same punch as "Once Were Warriors", but it is an intriguing ride, even if only to see the transformation of a character that most people would consider a sorry excuse for a human being to someone that you end up rooting for.

Other Movies / Kick-Ass (2010)
April 27, 2018, 03:12:59 PM
Kick-Ass is plenty of fun with a good mixture of humour, action and graphic violence to accompany its semi-realistic approach to what it would be like for an everyday person trying to become a superhero.

Other Movies / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
April 26, 2018, 12:03:00 AM
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a huge dose of nostalgic fun and is dark enough for plenty of adults to enjoy if they are able to look past a bunch of insignificant production errors.

Horror Talk / Baby Blood (1990)
April 25, 2018, 09:27:37 PM
There are a lot of blood splattering kills, there are some cool gore effects and the creature action is entertaining although we don't get to see enough of it but French people are just too weird for me to relate to as real human beings. The lead actress has fantastic tits.

Other Movies / Batman (1989)
April 24, 2018, 12:01:51 PM
This version of Batman has a very dark, murky, gothic tone to it. While there are some comical moments, it's probably the most serious and realistic version of the caped crusader to date and I prefer it that way.

What do you think of this version of Batman?

Other Movies / Once Were Warriors (1994)
April 24, 2018, 01:41:39 AM
This hard-hitting dramatic thriller from New Zealand will surely bring out some emotions in you as I found the characters and the intense situations that unfold to become easily invested in.

Horror Talk / The House Of The Devil (2009)
April 23, 2018, 11:35:18 PM
The House Of The Devil is a good, suspenseful movie but moves at a slow, slow pace. If you can overcome that obstacle, you're sure to enjoy this retro-themed horror flick.

Have you seen this movie? What do you think of it?

There's plenty of awesome action scenes and the movie manages to continue an intricate plot without convoluting it further. Terminator 2: Judgment Day is an incredibly tough movie to follow, but I think Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines has done that admirably.

What do you think of this third entry into the series?

Horror Talk / Almost Human (2013)
April 13, 2018, 11:38:58 PM
This is the kind of movie that would look pretty good at an independent film festival against other films of that nature. Almost Human is okay as a one-time watch but I can't ever see myself wanting to watch this movie ever again.

Horror Talk / Triloquist (2008)
April 11, 2018, 10:23:44 AM
It's not so much a killer doll movie as it is marketed to be. There are some giggles to be had throughout if you can appreciate its crude level of humour and some scenes that will make you just wonder, "what the fuck?" but it isn't a scary movie.

Have you seen Triloquist?

Horror Talk / American Psycho (2000)
April 11, 2018, 10:17:29 AM
This is a highly quotable movie, filled with fantastic dialogue, good acting and some suspense but the kills may or may not be too abrupt to satisfy those that were hoping for some blood-fueled mayhem.

Do you enjoy American Psycho?
