Other Movies / Switch (1991)
« on: August 12, 2018, 12:31:47 PM »
Switch is the type of movie you may have rented out on home video for a boring weekend. It's okay, it's corny at times and some messed up things happen throughout. I'm glad I watched it. I just don't know if I'll ever watch it again though.

Horror Talk / Fresh Meat (2012)
« on: August 11, 2018, 01:16:16 PM »
Temuera Morrison gives us a delightful, off-the-walls performance in this zany horror/comedy cannibal flick from New Zealand. It's a crazy, bloody movie with plenty of giggles to be had but unfortunately not consistent enough to be a truly good movie. All in all, it's an okay but forgettable movie.

Have you ever seen it?

Other Movies / Fatal Attraction (1987)
« on: August 11, 2018, 12:36:49 AM »
If somebody were to ask me to name a movie that embodies what a thriller flick is, Fatal Attraction is one of the first titles that would come to mind. If you're looking for a chilling movie outside of the horror genre, Fatal Attraction is a fine choice.

What are your thoughts on this original bunny boiler flick?

Horror Talk / Winchester (2018)
« on: August 10, 2018, 11:15:57 PM »
Winchester will serve those looking for a cheap scares but is ultimately cashing in on the wave of supernatural movies that have dominated the box office over recent years. If these type of movies are your thing, I'd recommend watching the original Insidious movie instead.

Other Movies / Fatal Bond (1991)

While there are a few entertaining sequences in the final third of the movie, you have to trundle through quite a sloppy and uninteresting turn of events with some average to poor acting from its cast. You could take a chance on it if you're a fan of Linda Blair or have an interest in low budget Australian cinema, but ensure your expectations are low upon viewing.

Have you ever come across Fatal Bond?

Other Movies / Blackbelt (1992)
« on: July 28, 2018, 11:35:32 PM »
This is your typical 90's low budget martial arts action movie with a thriller edge to it. The fight scenes aren't anything special, the story is quite simple, the acting is mediocre. Matthias Hues is pretty cool though.

Have you seen Blackbelt?

Other Movies / Omega Cop (1990)
« on: July 28, 2018, 12:26:01 AM »
The fight scenes aren't completely terrible but are overly repetitive and rather bland as our action hero runs through a never-ending gauntlet of generic goons. The acting is corny and the movie is devoid of any real charismatic characters.

Omega Cop sucks, did you enjoy this shit?

Horror Talk / Hit and Run (2009)
« on: July 11, 2018, 12:31:09 AM »
Hit and Run is an okay movie and is worthy of a one-time viewing but there's just nothing that makes it really stand out from the myriad of other low budget horror flicks in its era.

Horror Talk / Scream for Help (1984)
« on: July 08, 2018, 12:45:51 AM »
The characters in this movie don't typically behave like real humans would in their given circumstances, especially the lead actress. While this does create some sort of bizarre allure to the movie, it ultimately makes it difficult to take the unfolding events seriously.

Have you ever seen Scream for Help?

Horror Talk / American Psycho 2 (2002)
« on: July 07, 2018, 12:12:43 AM »
As a stand-alone movie, American Psycho 2 is sort of an okay movie but sets a poor tone with its opening scene as they cheaply kill off Patrick Bateman (I don't consider this a spoiler). It's a lot less interesting than the original and walks the path of a generic teen killer on campus type flick.

What did you think of this sequel?

Horror Talk / Hereditary (2018)
« on: June 15, 2018, 12:53:57 AM »
Heridtary is a well-acted and interesting watch which leads with suspense rather than just loading up on cheap jump scares. I don't completely understand everything that happened during my first viewing but I am intrigued enough to re-visit it again when it's available on bluray and hopefully pick up a few things that flew over my head the first time around.

Have you checked out Hereditary yet?

Horror Talk / Julie Darling (1983)
« on: June 12, 2018, 12:59:49 PM »
While the movie does have some lagging moments, I had a fine time watching Julie Darling. It's far from a perfect or pleasant experience, but it is different to most other movies out there and probably deserves more attention than what it has already received.

Have you ever checked it out?

Horror Talk / Nightmare Sisters (1988)
« on: June 06, 2018, 12:53:08 AM »
Nightmare Sisters doesn't have much to offer the viewer. There's a giggle or two to be had with its general goofiness and bad acting and I certainly don't mind Michelle Bauer getting soaped up in the tub for an inane amount of time but that's not going to cut it for a full length feature.

Horror Talk / Humongous (1982)
« on: June 04, 2018, 01:20:17 AM »
After sitting through the first hour of bland kills and lackluster suspense, it pays off with its carnage at the end of the movie and reminded me a lot of the Kane Hodder movie, Hatchet.

Have you checked out Humongous?

Other Movies / Five Loose Women (1974)
« on: May 31, 2018, 08:54:36 AM »
Five Loose Women is an exploitative erotic action thriller in which you get to see someone who reminds me of a mean lookin' Judy Dench awkwardly fingerblasting someone for five minutes straight. There are some giggles to be had with how bad some of the actors are and how scenes unfold but not enough to withstand all of its shortcomings.

What the fuck?
