Have to say that it warms the heart to see that you're still with us.
Certainly hope that you're doing well, De. #3

As Chucky alluded to, I am indeed alive. Depressed and barely hanging on, but alive. :P

I watched Judgment last night. Had some serious problems with it, but I did think that Revelations was worse.
Although, I think a good case could be made that Revelations was a better Hellraiser movie than Judgment, despite being a worse film overall. #5

Honestly, as poor as it is, I think a case could be made that Deader (the seventh film) is close to being as bad. I don't think it's worse, but the two might be on equal grounds. Definitely, though, Revelations is the worst of the franchise, though I still need to see Judgment, and for all I know, that could be worse. #6

Watched some classics in recent times.
The Washington County Disappearances (2022) Night of the Axe (2022) Hellraiser: Revelations (2011) Firestarter: Rekindled (2002) Night of the Scarecrow (1995) 13 Tracks to Frighten Agatha Black (2022) Srpski film / A Serbian Film (2010) Of the seven films, six were new watches (as I've seen Hellraiser: Revelations before). The Washington County Disappoerances was rather awful found footage. Night of the Axe was a decently fun micro-budget slasher. Rekindled was an okay mini-series, though as a sequel to the 1984 movie, it was awful. Night of the Scarecrow was a simple film, but had some charm to it. 13 Tracks to Frighten Agatha Black had potential, but it struck me as somewhat incoherent. Lastly, A Serbian Film was somewhat fucked up, but not quite as bad as I expected. #7

I'll let Chucky tackle the questions you asked; I just wanted to say welcome back.
I know what you mean about friends not being into horror - while I have a friend who will watch an occasional zombie movie (more for background noise than anything else), few of them have an interest in really delving into the genre, which is why I like these horror-based communities. Of course, forums are seen as somewhat old-fashioned today, which is why I also tend to use Twitter, but it would definitely be great to see some more life on the site, and given that we're not too far out from an overhaul on the forums, you chose a good time to pop back in. #8

I rather enjoy Jagged Little Pill - a lot of great songs, such as "Forgiven" and "You Learn"
That said, I can't say I hear the similarities. #9

Currently listening to Animals Killing People's debut album, Kentucky Fried Killing.
Came out back in 2008, but only picked it up recently. I have to say, it has some of the most guttural vocals I've ever heard. I can generally follow along to Mortician songs if I have lyrics in front of me - the same is true for The County Medical Examiners and Cattle Decapitation. But this? No way, Jack. On that front, it's moderately impressive. As for the specific last song I listened to, though, "Animals Are Beasts, Men Are Monsters" #10
Horror Talk / Re: Robert (2015)January 16, 2023, 02:16:17 PM
Apparently the director, Andrew Jones, just died. Not sure the cause of death, but he was young (around 39 years old).
Hated Robert with a passion, but this is sad news. #11

Other Movies / Re: What's the Last Non-Horror Movie You Watched?September 28, 2022, 06:26:09 AM
Seen both of these before:
The Dirty Dozen (1967) A bit dry during the middle, but the finale is top-notch fun. The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) Good classic science fiction. Quality anti-war message. #13

Never actually seen the first Orphan movie (having heard the twist beforehand, it's just not been high on my priority list), I'm happy that the sequel seems to at least be decent also. Heard generally the same thing on Twitter.

Hostel: Part III (2011)
Seen this before some years ago. Still absolute trash. #15

Also, it's possible I'd rate Freddy's Dead over the 2010 remake, but I'd need to see Freddy's Dead again before confirming that. |
