Video Games / Re: Steam Summer Sale 2018June 24, 2018, 12:43:29 AM
After getting like 350 games on Steam over the years, I've slowed down my buying habits to barely a trickle. Not only do I was to do other things with my time, but I figured out that when I do play video games, it's mostly Tecmo Super Bowl's season mode over and over again.

I loved it. In his old movies, Van Damme bared his ass. In JCVD, he bares his soul.
Seriously, they pulled an amazing acting performance out of the guy and the script is really fun and touching. #5

Stands up there with The Dark Knight as the best Batman movie. I always get a blast out of Keaton in any movie.

The actual best Van Damme movie is JCVD.
My "favorite", due to childhood bias, might be Street Fighter, as awful as it is. That being said, Bloodsport is 100% pure Van Dammeness and everybody should watch it. The face he does when he gets sand thrown in his eyes makes the movie. #7

Series should have ended at 2, but 3's more watchable than any of the sequels.

Horror Talk / Re: Seed Of Chucky (2004)April 01, 2018, 01:38:58 AM
People tend not to like this one, but I don't see what's really all that wrong with it. Bride of Chucky had already turned the series into a full on comedy, so what Seed did was the next logical step. I like what they did with Glen/Glenda, and it has some good meta humor.
Nonne of the Chucky movies are really bad, which is quite an accomplishment considering the subject matter. #10

Terrible, terrible movie, but I love it. It's such a bad take on the Rocky/Karate Kid formula, and most of the fun, in my eyes, is that I'm not sure if the film makers and Van Damme knew how dumb the whole think actually was while they were making it.
The dancing scene for instance, are they taking the piss, or is it a genuine attempt at good comedy? Anyway, the only part of the movie that actually works as intended is the mood they set up for the last fight. The dingy arena and the gloves lined with glue and broken glass give you this feeling that shit is about to go down. Feeling that is promptly ruined when the fight itself is as dumb as the rest of the movie and they don't ever really touch each other with the gloves. #12

This has been in my top 3 movies of all time since I've seen it. Sits up there with Rocky and Mad Max: Fury Road.

I thought this was a parody at first. I don't know about this...

The concept and ingenious set design makes this one a winner for me.

It's generic, but good, classic Rock. I don't go out of my way to listen to Fozzy, but I enjoy the songs when I hear them.
