Title: The Student of Prague (1913)
Post by: Jigsaw on March 25, 2018, 01:15:34 AM
Widely considered the first full-length horror movie ever released (including by yours truly), this German movie stands up well to this day (providing you have the most complete print), and doesn't drag or plod along. While the story itself isn't necessarily enthralling, and there are plenty of other better and more enjoyable silent horror movies from Germany alone, Der Student von Prag is a very solid film any fan of early cinema should give a shot.

Have you witnessed the birth of full-length horror cinema?

Here is a lengthy, incredibly-detailed review of this movie, which is definitely worth the read.

I get that many of you may not be all that interested in a flick this old, but this is history in the making. [*thumbsup*]
