I feel that this sequel is a little better than the first movie but only marginally. This one has some more memorable characters this time around, and Luke Goss plays a pretty cool bad guy, with some similarities to his evil character from Blade II.

It's a beautiful movie, well casted, and I like it, but it's storyline feels really cliché, déjà vu and predictable to me. I correctly guessed what would happen very early in the film.
Also, it bothers me in fantasy movie when characters who should know what's up call bullshit on some legend that will obviously turn out to be true. You're the literal son of the devil Hellboy, why wouldn't there be a troll under a bridge or some shit like that?
