Actually, you just reminded me that Raw is on tonight. Will be the first time I bother watching any wrestling stuff since the last time I watched a ppv with De and L.

Wonder what changes I've missed out on. I've already heard of a handful.

How long has it been since you've watched? The WWE aren't too bad lately, though I say that because of Team Hell No and The Shield, mostly.

Last thing I remember was Punk gunning pretty close for a one-year title hold. I think I remember hearing from someone that he got it?

Yeah, he went over a year. He just lost at the Royal Rumble to The Rock. Probally going to be Rock/Cena 2 for the title at Mania.

I fear that the golden age of wrestling much like the golden age of horror has past by.

sure there may be a glimpse of hope here and there but it will never be like it once was.

Wrestling will never be like it was during the Monday night wars

Agreed. The way things were is being forced out by this new retarded ADD generation.

It really doesn't. Reminds me why I never liked him in the first place.

Also, stopped watching WWE again after the Royal Rumble. So yeah, back to watching Indy Wrestling I go-go.

I got to make it. YES! YES! YES!
NO! NO! NO! I WANTED TO MAKE IT! I AM THE TAG T...

Ok, that's not funny anymore. I enjoy most of WWE these days, but the 3 hours RAW has so much fucking filler. I like the thrill of watching something live, but this show benefits from a little fast forwarding.

Punk and Daniel Bryan are the best things in all wrestling today. The transition from an anti-hero to a self obsessed dick was *cough*shockingly*cough* easy and natural, especially with Heyman sucking up to him.

gotta say it's weird seeing Jericho getting cheered against him, as a year before, he was smashing his head with Jack bottles, pouring alcohol on him and calling his family degenerate addicted losers. But hey, it's wrestling; if it happened more than three months ago, we're not supposed to remember it.

The nice thing is that he can work it both way.

As a face, he doesn't mind people drinking once in a while, but he doesn't do it and is a good role model. As good as a tattoo covered insomniac can be.

As a heel, he demonizes us for having a beer once in a while, and claims his absolute superiority.

He recently toned that downed however, and mainly focuses on how he's the best in the world, and that nobody but him deserves the glory.

After doing the whole "Straight Edge Society" thing, it'd be kind of hard to top that in terms of demonizing people. Dude nearly caused riots anywhere he went during that period.

It was a bit more 1 demensional than what hes doing now, but he still was the best heel in the company, with the best stable in years. Such a shame the SES didn't last.

It may have been one dimensional, but that didn't stop the fact that people don't like being told how to live. Especially by a guy that looked like Charles Manson with a superiority complex.

That would have been cool. It's kind of what they're doing with Bray Wyatt (formerly Husky Harris) in NXT. Who in my opinion, is one of the best things going in wrestling today. Dude's got the Max Cady from Cape Fear thing going on that Waylon Mercy had back in the day, but is doing it A LOT better. I wish NXT were on here in the states, because they've got one hell of a roster.

Straight Edge Society? What the fuck? It's no surprise people hate me wherever I go.
Punk was basically a "faith" healer. He helped people that were addicted and "saved" them. Like the character Festus. Who prior to the Straight Edge Society thing was almost comatose until the bell rang. It was revealed he was on some sort of drug that left him in a vegetative like state. It was interesting stuff.

Punk pissed people off so much that an old lady at a live event grabbed him by the hand and said something along the lines of, "You're not God! You're the Devil and you're going to burn in hell!" Also getting the crowd so worked up, that they pelted him and anyone else in the ring with trash, batteries, etc. Got to the point where there was almost a riot every night.

YES. I'm stoked about Bray moving up to the main roster. I thought he kicked ass as Husky Harris, and now, he's even better. He's like a fast Mick Foley... the guy is gonna be something huge.

I keep thinking that if Punk would have been around in the 50s, there WOULD have been riots and he would probably have been stabbed or shot at. He's that good.

Punk has said that in conversations with people like Harley Race, they wish he had been around during their time as he would have fit in perfectly. Which I think is one of the highest compliments a wrestler can receive from a legend such as Race. It would have been extremely interesting to see how Punk would have acted with people such as Flair and the Horsemen, etc.

He would have been as good and as popular, if not more. Even his smaller, softer frame would have fit well back then.

I'm glad you guys like heel Punk. That other wrestling board I frequent really hated his heel turn, but I was glad to be away from Punk making ice cream bar jokes every week. He's a fantastic heel.

It's still weird as hell that he had a year long title reign, that's the kind of thing we used to joke about happening but knowing it wouldn't.

I liked him as a good guy too, but the title loss to Del Rio and a lack of compelling angles hurt his run a lot. Him turning bad again breathed life into his character again, and made me feel closer to the way I felt when he did the famous pipebomb promo.

I still think they missed out on the opportunity to make him the biggest star ever. They didn't full on stopped his push, but they didn't strike the iron like I wish they would have. But still, that was an overall amazing title run, and my nitpicks are minor.

The one board I used to frequent hated his heel run because they said it felt tacked on and that he's trying way too hard. Doesn't come off like that to me. And despite him generally having legit grievances, I've been highly entertained by what he's been doing. I like Heel Punk a lot better than Face Punk.

How can you NOT like him, regardless of him being heel or face? The guy can shit charisma, makes a sandwich out of it for you, and you will like it.

Also, The Rock is pretty much in the shitter for me. Too many times has he come back to WWE, saying he's here to stay for good this time, only to disappear literally the next show. I'm not a fan of Cena's character, but at least the fucker shows up on a consistent basis. Makes me think the only reason he came back was because they promised him the title, and another Mania spotlight.

I've always been a fan of The Rock, but I'm not enjoying his run much. It could just be because I was younger and more immature, but his jokes are cringeworthy now (though I swear there at least used to be some wit to his jokes). Not as cringeworthy as Cenas, but still.

the whole "them not liking heel punk" is what wwe want. even if it's because "informed fans" don't like the gimmic. heat is still heat either way.

cm punk is good. very good. if you watch the "pipebomb" promo from 2011. they watch the one he did a few weeks ago. you'll see that he says much the same thing. but says it differently enough so that the first one was a face promo and the second was a heel promo.

someone who i don't think gets enough credit from "informed fans" is cena. what gets me most is the "5 moved of doom" hate. if you look at stone cold in the late 90s. he did something like 4 moves in a match most of the time. i'm not trying to say that austin isn't good becaust isn't true at all. i love stone cold. just saying that cena should get more credit. and come on he cuts some of the best promos.

The fact that his act, or jokes, havent changed in the least in 10 years don't help him. He has tremendous charisma and talent, but it sorts of goes to waste right now.

As a wrestler, John Cena is extremely underrated.

As a speaker...he can cut a damn fine promo when he's not making jokes. Unfortunately that's not a lot. It's not really his fault though, it's the writing team of soap opera rejects.

Seriously. He's a good wrestler, and a good talker.

I just hate it when his promos go nowhere (like that one about what people do on their sundays), and when the story of the match dictates that he needs to get run over by a train 3 times, kick out each time and hit one finisher to win.

He's perfectly capable of having good matches while looking strong and making his opponents look good, so why do otherwise?
Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread

he's going to drop the title at mania most likely and then fuck off again. thats what i don't really like.

i liked his monday night raw rock concert. i thought it was fun. and i love when he starts swaring that the guy on the beep button can't keep up. that makes me smile because i always thing someone out the back is cursing the rock.

hes only a shit wrestler because wwe don't let him do much on raw. they want their good matches on ppvs and don't want top billing wrestlers getting hurt before then. when he irst rocked up and had that match with angle. that was an awesome match.

I don't think Cena's underrated at all. It just takes someone to drag a good match out of him. His matches with Punk have been fantastic. Even his TLC match against Ziggler was great. Seeing Cena bust out a hurricanrana (even if it was sloppy) was still impressive.

As far as his promo ability goes, it's deteriorated a lot in recent years. I don't remember the last time he made me give a shit about something by talking it up. But that's just me. The problem isn't just his shitty promos as of late, it's the fact that he's consistently shoved down the audience's throat. Always gets undeserved title shots. Does things and then calls people out for doing the same things he's done saying they're not "honorable." There's a lot of hypocrisy with his character which is where a lot of the hate comes from. In my eyes, it's much deserved. The writers really aren't doing him any favors in that regard.

Amen. I feel like he could be a much better, much more likeable character, if they would just get rid of the writing staff that they currently have.

To be honest, I think all, not just Cena, would benefit much more that way.

I agree with that. Dolph Ziggler should be a pretty big deal considering he has a briefcase that allows him to get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship whenever he desires. Yet he's either losing to Cena or just coming off as an idiot for not cashing in at an opportune time.

Right now, aside from Punk and Daniel Bryan, the only thing I'm enjoying is the Shield. Mostly because they've been attacking people I'm not particularly fond of.

Granted, they did help make him a star. But don't act like Vince isn't there with open arms for all the extra exposure and money the Rock brings to just roll out of bed, rattle off a couple one liners and beat someone at the PPV. He comes and goes as he pleases because he has all the clout, and Vince eats it up with a spoon.

Sorry, that one was just funny. As a functional wrestler, the only one Vince has treated similarly to the Rock has been Hogan, which makes sense given he is the most iconic wrestler of all time. HBK, yeah Vince let him take the time off he needed because he was all fucked up on drugs or fucked up his back, he wasn't off making movies, having fun doing whatever he wanted, then let him roll in for WrestleMania, beat a marquee star then roll out again. Yeah Vince has been decent to some of these guys in their retirement, not really the same as what he allowed when the wrestled for him.

The man is amazing. Stupidly strong, moves well, great traditional wrestling style. He is the perfect midcard champion, giving us some of the best matches in every show he's in, and I feel that once he moves up to main events, he's gonna be one of the top guys for many years to come.

Antonio is great. And while I'm digging him as a singles wrestler, part of me is still bummed that we likely won't get to see him and Chris Hero reform the Kings of Wrestling in WWE.  [*cry*]

While I agree that the Kings of Wrestling in WWE would be amazing, the company is barely able to focus on one team at all. Hell No is the only one that matters right now, with no competition.

The Kings would be either the Champions with no credible opponents, or cannon fodder to another team.

As long as the writing staff stays as it is, I think it's better to give them a chance a a good single run.

Considering they basically took Hero's schtick and gave it to Wade Barrett, I'm not expecting Hero to fair well at all.

You mean the elbow to the face?

If so, yeah, that's weird. Barrett already had two finishers. The Wasteland, which was very basic, and the Winds of Change(?) which was a cool scrapbuster slam.

He got injured, came back, and to emphasize his bare knuckle boxing background, he now has an elbow shot.

If anything, I would have given him a mad flurry of punches to the temples and called it the "Barrett Barrage".

The ripcord elbow and the whole "one long sleeve and an elbow pad on the other arm" combination. Hero's been rocking that look since like......05-06.

As for Sandow, he's definitely like Lann Poffo's "Genius" character without the poems.

I heard Brodus Clay came up with the Hall of Pain gimmick for himself, and creative gave it to Henry.

I really wonder how he actually feels about the Funkasaurus character. It's pretty much just a fun sideshow for kids, and it will never be anything more.
Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread
Post by: L-Face on February 07, 2013, 04:09:13 AM
I read that he enjoys the light hearted Funkasaurus gimmick because it's different. But he was worried when they wanted him to do it because he "doesn't know how to dance." He said Triple H did a double take and was like, "Really? That's what you're worried about? That's the point, go have fun." or something to that extent.

On one hand, there's nothing wrong with being a fun character that shows up every week for the young fans to enjoy... on the other, Brodus is capable of much more.

Yeah, it was so fucking bizarre.

I never gave two shits about Mark Henry. He was always the guy that got a blowjob from a tranny. Then, out of nowhere, awesome personified. I loved it when he beat Orton for the WHC, and I love that he's back to wreck shit again.

Just goes to show that all it takes is the right character tweak sometimes.

Seriously. The break he had worked wonders for him.

People forgot he was a jobber, he comes back with a new intensity, a horribly racist gimmick (and manager), and he fucks people up. If he does win the title, I feel this run will be much better than his first one, and he might be able to get people to really hate him.

It's not subtle, but I like that the white patriotic american gimmick is now heel material. Which brings me to think of Del Rio, who actually works really well as a babyface.

Also, I liked the PPV as a whole. I'm bummed that Punk lost, of course, but I expected it, and the match was great. Much better than their first one. Rock's stamina probably isn't what it used to be, and Punk did a great job carrying most of the match when Rocky wasn't on the offense.

Sadly, highlight reel moments in the elimination chamber have been happening less and less as the years go by. Didn't recall any really outstanding ones during this match. Orton going through a plastic glass door was perhaps the only big bump which is really sad considering the Elimination matches of years past. Fill it with high flyers next time and let the "Holy shit" moments fly!

Swaggers gimmick is a slap in the face to those of us who do feel secure borders are needed. I live in Texas and can attest to the chaos of an unsecure border so his little pal going around being fanatical is annoying to us as well. Wanting the borders secured is not a radical idea held by radicals with handlebar moustaches. It's a sane idea with some loons taking it to the extreme fucking up the debate for the rest of us and Vince as a Repuke should know that but he is more bent on his wallet than anything else.

Not liking Del Rio and Miz as Face. They seem out of place now. Neither one fits it.

And can we give Jericho a title win somewhere?? He came back last year and lost the Rumble and Wrestlemania, he comes back again here, loses everything still. Fuck, the guy deserves better!
Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread
Post by: Crash Dummie on February 19, 2013, 03:52:12 AM
Unless you're one of these extremely racist guys with a handlebar mustache, I don't think you should feel offended. Wrestling is like Punch-Out!!, it pokes fun at every stereotype. The borders are certainly an issue worth debating, but wrestling is more about caricatures than subtelty.

I gotta agree about the Chamber spots however. Much of it was worked like a normal match, and if there's one time where it's a good idea to throw people into stuff and jump from high places, it might as well be this match.
Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread

i didn't see it. but at least there was only one chamber match this year. i have last years on dvd and felt that having 2 chamber matches in one might makes them less special. same with money in the bank and even hell in a cell. i don't think hell in a cell should get it's own ppv.

Cena just did another 'good guy' idiotic thing and put his match for Wrestlemania on the line against CM punk in a match next Monday. Now this shit pisses me off, you have a golden ticket to Wrestlemania and then put it at risk against someone who cheats at every turn just because they "Dare" you to. I honestly hope Cena loses his Wrestlemania slot for even being so stupid to make this match. Idiot.
Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread

I like Cena and all, but Punk vs Rock is a better match than Cena vs Rock. Besides his character really does come off as a stupid bully at times.

I missed Raw last night. Normally I wouldn't care, but I'm kicking myself about it since they introduced the new WWE Title. I was recently thinking about how it sucked that Punk didn't get the chance to unveil the belt during his reign, and just now Rock does it.

It looks pretty good I guess. JR compared it to a huge Super Bowl ring, and that's about right. I still prefer the Heavyweight belt, and the old WWE with the eagle, but this one looks nice, and fits the era pretty well.

with the new belt, i like that the wwe logo it is main focal point of it. the last one looked a little "blingie" and just too visually busy. and a lot of the older ones looked nice but the wwe logo was always hard to see. and after all it is the wwe title.

to be honest i think wwe needs to have a restructure with the title belts. i love the world heavyweight belt but lets face it, it doesn't really mean much now days.

I like Cena and all, but Punk vs Rock is a better match than Cena vs Rock.

We just had that TWICE. You are not going into Wrestlemania with a 3rd time in a row match as the main event. Cena vs Rock happened only once before at last years Wrestlemania and it is time for the rematch.

Vickie seemed like a Face last night. Mocking Heyman, making matches faces wanted. Hell even making Brad Maddox assistant to her I thought was good because I thought he was honorable in calling out the Shield. They pummeled him but the guy did make a stand and no one seemed to give him props for it.

Khali scaring off Mark Henry? That was a joke.

I think Ryback is ready to turn heel.

Oh and Randy Orton finally showed some signs of life! I liked his exchange with Kane and thought this quote was quite good "you know what Kane? There would have been a time when what you did right there woulda had me shaking in my boots. I gotta admit man, your a lot less intimidating now that you've traded in your piledrives and chokeslams for group therapy sessions and hugs. not really the big red monster anymore your more like.. barney. Facebook and youtube. The WWE Fans on facebook probably wear helmets when they go out.

You can like or dislike the title, that's fine.

I like it, more and more as time passes. I'm not the biggest fan of the WWE logo, and it might be due for an update, but the title looks very fine and used it well. It has a classic feel, yet some more modern, while somewhat subtle "bling". It's a completely new design that doesn't look too much like a toy, and I'm behind the idea.

Now if someone who dislikes it eloquently explains why, great, but an angry post where not one word is spelled correctly, claiming that the Spinner was much better... that gives me a headache.

You guys honestly look at the details on the damn belt? I have never cared what the design was, what logo was on it or even if it had pink streamers on it. It was always just the belt they bring out over their shoulder and brag about having. I dare say the average WWE fan had no idea what either belt looked like before monday. No idea what Smackdowns belt even looks like. Odd the people who complain about WWE and Cena are the same ones who look at details like how the belts are designed.

WWE star Jack Swagger was arrested last night in Mississippi, TMZ has learned -- after allegedly driving under the influence ... with pot in his car.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ, Swagger -- real name Jacob Hager -- was leaving a "Smackdown" taping at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi when he was pulled over for speeding.

According to law enforcement, the officer who pulled him over determined Swagger was driving under the influence -- and a search revealed Swagger was in possession of marijuana.

We're told Swagger -- a former WWE World Heavyweight champ -- was taken in by local sheriff's deputies ... and later released on his own recognizance.

He has been charged with DUI, marijuana possession, and speeding -- all misdemeanors.

We reached out to WWE, who tells TMZ, "Mr. Swagger is responsible for his own personal actions."

Yeah... this is getting a bit ridiculous. The guy should have just retired years ago. Instead he wants a fucking number.

They were ok. Some songs sounded pretty bad, mainly because Jericho's singing is quite one-dimensional. Some songs he pulled off decently. But since he's so charismatic he was able to keep the crowd entertained.

Welp, Taker just came back for a live Event, and looked to be in pretty good shape.

That'll teach us to make assumptions about what's going on behind the scenes. I could almost feel my neckbeard growing.

Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread

He clearly wanted to cement his legendary status with 20-0 so makes sense he would strive for that. This is the PPV he should lose and make his grand exit. Or if he is simply too beat up to compete, have him come out and announce he is retiring. Would be a great moment.

The build up to Wrestlemania is weak this year. They need to get their shit together and start building heat on some feuds.
Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread
Post by: Crash Dummie on February 26, 2013, 05:22:41 AM
If he's gonna retire, it's gonna be at Wrestlemania. Last year was the perfect opportunity, but they didn't do it, and we didn't get the full sense of closure it should have had. A shame really, the "End of an Era" story was tailored for that.

but then again, I'm a Taker mark, and he can still do his shtick. I don't mind if he waits for another Wrestlemania or 2 to finally hang up the boots.
Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread
Post by: DeraiLer on February 26, 2013, 05:35:53 AM
For the sake of his body I say he retires this year while he can still walk. Edge made the right choice and Taker should too. Let the younger guys carry the torch now.
Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread
Post by: Crash Dummie on February 26, 2013, 05:45:34 AM
For Edge, it was a matter of "You fall on your neck bad one more time, the best case scenario is you never walk again.".

Taker is old and beat up, but I don't think he has any injuries that one or two more matches could worsen and make his old life hell.

He probably already hurts all over, but he's a special attraction now, so I hope that if he does wrestle more, he doesn't take any stupid risks. He can still take punches and do a Tombstone, but I don't want to see him jump over the rope and land on his neck again, like in his first Mania match against HBK.

Punk vs Cena last night was awesome. Cena busted out a few moves he just about never does; like the sit-out Powerbomb and a... "modified" Hurricanana. To be polite.

And Punk did the first Texas Piledriver we've seen in WWE for YEARS. Rumors were that the move was banned for being too dangerous. Well, it looked great and devastating. Funny how years of not seeing a move gives it more credibility.
Title: Re: Official Pro-Wrestling Thread
Post by: DeraiLer on February 27, 2013, 03:15:10 AM
Yeah it wasn't the typical Cena getting beat for 90% only to power up for the finish. It was more of a back and forth and I kinda think that was Punks doing. Not wanting Cena to do his by the books routine and instead have it a toe to toe fight. And yeah, caught me off guard when Cena did a Hurricanarana and got the pin. That now makes it... 5 moves?

Oh and Friday, it's coming!

He is not carrying the movies that are hits. The Fast and Furious wasn't a hit because of him and from this movie Snitch, it is obvious people won't be going to see GI Joe because he is the star. They guy has the luck of adding himself to successful franchises. Solo, his films flop. I think his one blockbuster was that Disney flick the Game Plan. Faster sucked. Tooth Fairy? Bleh. I think it would be best this way, WWE and films. Unless Hollywood won't insure a guy moonlighting as a WWE competitor. Can't have your main star throwing out his ham string in mid shoot.

I honestly didn't mind Faster. Mostly because he barely spoke in it. But yeah. Can't think of too many films he's been the star of that have been hits. I guess Scorpion King was decent enough for studios to greenlight that Direct to DVD seprequel.

I wouldn't question it. Tooth Fairy made over 110 mil on a 48 mil budget. With Faster, I thought that was a movie that was advertised poorly, the first I ever heard of it was when I saw a poster for it in my local theatre, which got my ass dragged to it mainly just because the Rock was in it but despite the lack of advertising the movie still made a profit. And yeah, the Game Plan made like 138 mil on a 22 mil budget. Fast Five, that movie is supposedly the 66th highest-grossing film of all time. So no need to even bring out the numbers from that one.

Even Schwarzenegger made movies which flopped and lost money, but we wouldn't question his star power.

I've rarely seen someone get more immersed in a stupid 90s gimmick than Bearer.

By all accounts, him and Taker should have been a fad that would have died out in a year or two.

But not only did they have the perfect Undertaker, they also had the perfect guy to manage him. He acted like he believed everything he said so much that we bought it. It takes a lot of talent to play a fat, creepy Gomez Adams and get a giant zombie over with the entire world.

Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, and Freddy Krueger wrestling isn't actually.....out of the norm. In a promotion called W*INGER Eddie Gilbert (or Doug, I forget) Wrested as Freddy. I forget the guy that was Leatherface. Also, down in Jerry Lawler's promotion, somewhat recently, he entered into a feud with Tom Savini (not kidding.) Savini appeared via vignette and accused Lawler of killing Andy Kaufman (wha?) and then sent "monsters" to take Jerry down. One of which was Jason Voorhees.

4 years in a row. The first HBK/Taker match really had my friends and I on the edge of our seats with how good it was.

And yeah the PPV blew. Hell even the build up to it was weak. Rock and Cena played it way too safe in promos, the Del Rio acting like Swagger was horrible to watch. The big show can we trust him shit was obvious. No! You can't! Punk basically handled most of the promo work with Taker just grumbling how Punk will pay! Brock hasn't said a word in over 8 months. I just skipped Rybacks match.

You know, the Rock/Cena shit the week before Wrestlemania should have been on the same week of the PPV. It was actually a fitting end that would lead up to the PPV. Their solo promos were just eh. As far as Punk vs Taker, Taker played his part and Punk played his. Punk doing what he did pissed off a lot of the members of the IWC, so I got a kick out of it. As for Henry and Ryback, I had no expectations. But after the whole "Hall of Pain" thing last year, I'm a Henry fan. Ryback, despite WWE's beliefs, isn't over. It's his, "FEED ME MORE!" chant that's over. People like saying it, but they hate him. Go figure.

As far as Brock goes, I love him. He doesn't have to talk for me to like him. But if he went on a tirade like he did after he beat the shit out of Frank Mir in UFC, that would make me love him even more. He's the kinda guy that people are torn on. They either love him or want to pay to see him get beat up.

His matches are the only ones worth watching, really. Kinda sad that he's all that remains of the "spectacle" that was Wrestlemania. The thing I'm curious about is whether or not Extreme Rules will be the better PPV of the year again like it has been for the past few years.

WWE seems in a kind of bump. What happened to TNA ? , haven't heard about it in months. Rumours in Locker room are that Ricky is going back to TNA soon.

TNA seems to be doing fine. It's definitely no where near as bad as it had been in 2006 or so. Some would argue that the Aces & 8's thing has gone on for too long (much like every other TNA large stable storyline) but it's kinda worth it for Bully Ray.

I've always found you very good. I also appreciate that you don't post in Kayfabe on your facebook (as far as I can tell). Some of the wrestlers I know take it a little too far.

TNA seems better than it was for a good while, but I don't watch it enough to be sure. As for WWE, there are a lot of things that I enjoy, but the 3 hours Raw are fucking ridiculous. It feels like a chore, and I'd rather fast forward through it all the day after.

Sami Zayn, one of El Generico's orphans, made it to the WWE and he's freakin' amazing! He learned a lot from his mentor.

Kinda funny. He wrestled twice in one night upon his debut. Once against Hawkins, then accepting Cesaro's open challenge (which was also Cesaro's second match of the night.) While their match was good and got great reviews, I hear the match they had at the next set of tapings was even better.

Also, anyone else as hyped as I am that Bray Wyatt is finally getting called up to the main roster? Dude's got a phenomenal gimmick going on and is fantastic on the microphone. He's also pretty damn good in the ring to boot. Who'd have thought a guy that used to be known as Husky Harris (who was arguably the weak link of the Nexus, if you don't count Mason "Welsh Batista" Ryan) would turn out to be so fucking entertaining?

I loved him as Husky Harris, and he's even better as Bray Wyatt.

He's slimmed down quite a bit, and he fucking OWNS that gimmick. Every single little motion conveys his character perfectly. I've seen one match of his "family" too.

They seem like your regular big hosses. They strike hard and slam people. Not flashy, but it works I guess. The one with black hair was called Brodie Lee before, right?

Indeed, Harper was known as Brodie Lee on the Indy scene. In Chikara, he had a pretty epic cage match with Claudio Castagnoli (Antonio Cesaro.) He is pretty much the typical big guy, but that's not a bad thing considering he does it well.

Randy Orton RKO'ed Daniel Bryan on Smackdown.

I know he always RKO'es everyone, and I haven't watched the show yet, but I freaking hope it leads him to a heel turn. The guy hasn't been doing shit in over a year. Besides, Daniel Bryan is bigger than ever with the Yes/No Mania, he keeps wrecking the Shield by himself... he could really use the rub a feud with Randy could give him to propell him even further.

I'd really prefer Orton just go away. He's gotta the most stale person on the roster (yes, even more than Cena).

If he gets crazy, arrogant, and punting people, I won't mind him.

Right now, he looks like he doesn't give a shit.

I love that bryan goes to town on the Shield and trashes them all by himself but fear the big push those guys are getting will drown out the excitement bryan builds up. Vince should open his ears more often and realize Bryan deserves much more.

Seems to me that WWE realizes how over Bryan is. If they didn't, I don't think he'd be involved with the Shield at all. I mean, the matches he and Kane have had with Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose has been the most entertaining part of Raw for the last month or so. Not to mention, after Smackdown this past Friday, it would seem WWE is setting Bryan up to feud with Orton which could be pretty interesting.

Bryan got injured monday which sucks as I was wanting to see him receive a title push. Would be good as champion again.

Mark Henry fooled me too lol. I thought the asshole was retiring.

Brock vs Punk? I r curious. Doubt Brock will break his silent streak and just leave the talking to Heyman. Be wiser than taking on a master of the microphone like Punk.

Jericho is a generous guy who continues to put newer talent over than give himself wins. I am growing more respect for him.

I read that Bryan wasn't seriously injured. He suffered a stinger, but will be alright otherwise. He shouldn't miss any time away from the ring. Though, the dirtsheets are reporting that he was actually supposed to win the match on Monday and later got into a heated debate with Triple H backstage. Not sure how true the last bits are, but it's interesting nonetheless.

The Mark Henry segment was masterfully executed. Before last year, I honestly didn't give a shit about Henry, but after the Hall of Pain run, he's one of my top favorites in the WWE.

Brock vs Punk could be interesting. In interviews not conducted with WWE, Punk has been pretty critical of Brock, but has given him some praise on his in-ring abilities. It'll be interesting to see if that's brought up in this feud. Also, really digging Punk's "Wolverine" look.

While I do like that Jericho realizes that putting newer or struggling talent over would benefit the company, he really needs to not lose as much. Otherwise, it won't be much of a benefit, if any at all. He's slowly starting to lose credibility in terms of how important a win over him is. Yeah, the announcers can bring up him beating Austin and Rock in the same night to become the first Undisputed champion, but that was a decade ago and doesn't really hold water in the ever evolving roster of the WWE.

Also, the promos for the Wyatt family continue to be awesome. They're unlike any other vignette the WWE has done before and Wyatt remains super compelling despite not officially debuting on WWE television yet. Once he does, it'll be glorious.

I have no idea if the argument with Triple H was real or not, and I love the feeling of not knowing.

Assuming it was for real, I think it's great. Daniel Bryan is in the middle of a giant push. He's awesome in the ring, on the mic, and he's apparently a very well liked coworker.

Now he's shown the boss that he has balls. They probably both got pissed, screamed and swore a bit, but at the end of the day, I can only guess Triple H respects Daniel for standing up for himself like that.

I don't know what the right call would have been. I understand Hunter for wanting to protect his wrestlers, and I thrust that Bryan is smart enough to know when he can go or not. But he showed that he wants to succeed and doesn't want to disappoint.

I hope he gets another match with Orton and beats him clean.

Okay ya'll, let's catch up. The Shield were fucking amazing. Ambrose and Rollins > Reigns. Stardust & Goldust are SO good. I miss Daniel Bryan, wish CM Punk didn't quit. I hated Batista until he put over D-Bry at Wrestlemania. They're wasting Sandow. Bray Wyatt is the most interesting guy next to Ambrose at the moment. Bo Dallas is HILARIOUS. Randy Orton will always be boring. Paige is.. well [*yummy*]

I don't watch any wrestling these days but I do get a kick out of watching YouShoot videos on YouTube. Like the guy on a quest to find out the size of Batista's dick.

If only those idiots would put their minds to actually solving problems.

I didn't realize that the 25th Anniversary of RAW was on a few weeks back. I haven't watched WWE in years but had I realized that I would have at least tuned in to see what's changed.

It's okay. In ring work is probably at an all time high for the company, but about half of the booking leaves to be desired, as expected.

That being said Braun Strowman is one of the best booked character is forever, 205 Live is pretty good and NXT has almost consistently been the best American wrestling program for a couple years.
