Horror Talk / Re: Rob Zombie's Lords Of Salem

I used to think that Devil's Rejects was a good movie. Then I saw it again and quickly realized that Rob has somehow managed to fool people into thinking he's directed more than one movie, while in actuality, all of his shit is the same movie only with a different set of characters.

Yep, it's Heavy Rain. Since you knew that, you're obviously the Origami Killer!  [*laugh*]

Generally, fans of something think they can do it better than the people that do end up making things. The people bitching about what he did with Star Trek easily fall into that same category. He attempted to make a Star Trek film that was faithful to the source material, but could also be a leaping on point for people not familiar with it. Quite a few people I've heard talk about it have said he did a great job in accomplishing that.

Good points.

I think the only true "good" character in the show was Dale. Glenn and Carol too, but both are a little too weak to lead a group.
Yeah, I was bummed when they killed Dale off. And while Glenn may not be strong enough to lead the group, his strengths still make him stand out and make him super useful. As far as Carol goes, I'm glad she's finally starting to come into her own. Especially after the shit she put up with in Season 1.

I don't consider him making the conscious decision to exclude other less fortunate people out of the group, even though they have a chance to prove their worth, a mistake. While I definitely agree with him a good portion of the time, and I do sympathize with him, that is simply one of the areas that I think he has a huge fault on... especially when others in the group oppose those decisions.
Perhaps I'm reading this wrong or you phrased it improperly, but if his group disagrees with him and you see it as a fault, is that not a mistake?

I think I'm going to have to go with WWF No Mercy for the Nintendo 64. I spent many a summer day/night playing this with a group of friends and having an absolute blast, even in defeat. For the time, the graphics/sound/customization were the best around. The controls were easy to figure out. It was very much a pick up and play game and it still holds up to this day, in my opinion. It was/is easily one of the best, if not the best wrestling game of all time.

The whole show is centered around making tough decisions. While it explores characters fairly well, what it doesn't show or explore is how Rick deals with the actions he makes. At least, when they're actions that don't pertain to members of his group. One can only assume and those assumptions can turn out to be wrong.

Either way, after all the shit he's gone through, I'm still able to sympathize with him despite his more recent actions. He's not a hero. He's human and humans make mistakes.

Quote from: L-Face on February 06, 2013, 05:25:12 AMThere's a reason Firefly got cancelled (it sucked balls.)
Whoa whoa whoa now... let's not get too hasty. Fox simply fucked Firefly hardcore.
It's an opinion, bud. I'm not a fan of Joss or anything he's done. Though, I won't argue that Fox has been shady in their dealings. After all, they did the same thing with a few other shows.

Anyways, back to JJ Abrams. Dude's pretty solid from what I heard. There was a guy with cancer that was a huge fan of Star Trek. Wanted to see JJ Abrams new film, but didn't have that much time left. JJ caught wind of it and showed the dude everything that was shot and edited together up until that point. Dude had a blast and was able to die happy.

Godwin's Law: Engaged.

I'd probably go the same route Rick did. Having a bunch of people trying to decide what was best for the group simply had them running in circles. But with Rick taking charge, they became a well oiled machine. Sure, they lost a few cogs along the way, but they're much stronger because of it.

The movie is shit and the only reason it's remembered is because of all the animals they killed and the death scenes.
Wouldn't go that far. But, to each his own, I s'pose.

She was the blonde with the dreadlocks.

When will white people learn they can't pull of dreds.

He does do his damnedest when he and his group have their backs to the wall... no doubt about it. But seems as if every time he finally gets into that spot that he wants, he shoots down everyone (figuratively, not literally) in the same position that they themselves were just in.
Well, those people aren't his people.

Blair Witch is the best found footage film I've seen.  I found Blair Witch to be crap.  For the record, I haven't watched Cannibal Holocaust yet.
Wait, Blair Witch is the best found footage film you've seen, but it's crap?  [*odd*]

As far as Cannibal Holocaust goes, if you can find all the parts that people generally talk about, then watch those. Otherwise, you may be bored. Depends on your preference in pacing.
