I was pretty iffy about this one until I actually saw the red band trailer. Looks pretty sick. Read that the director was shooting for an NC-17 Rating just so he knew he was going in the right direction. With some slight trims it's a Hard R bordering on the NC-17, so there's that. As for Hollywood capitalizing on the name? Well, it is produced by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell and Raimi hand picked the director to remake this. It at least has that going for it.

It actually being produced by Raimi is one of the things that had me reserved from the get-go. I haven't cared for most of the PG-13 shit flicks he has produced lately.

What do you think?

As much as I hate the idea of Hollywood capitalizing on a name, and they should just take this approach with at least a semi-original idea, I think it's shaping up to look pretty bad ass. It won't live up to the original series, but further confirmation from the director that he's using practical effects and less CGI as possible etc. leaves me hopeful that this can at least rock, if not have the roll.

Piranha and Fright Night remakes were both ace. I saw the devil was the best of all mentioned, but also dug Insidious and Cabin in the Woods. A Serbian Film suffered from too much hype, but it was more interesting and well made than I thought it would be, pretty solid all things considering.

Wedding Trough. Seek it, experience it, love it. Very moving.

Wasn't good enough to use? What else was it gonna do, be original? They knew they didn't have the talent on that project for that. And if it's one thing that I think all can respect, it's knowing your own limitations. Far too many nowadays think they are so fucking witty with their "twists" or other garbage. This, they knew exactly what it had in the tank, that's commendable and you know it, JZ.

I'll just leave it at losing my girlfriend, my car, my job, and my right nut, all since June, and leave it at that.

Blessing is disguise, my good man. All those can lead to much unneeded stress and personal anguish.

I will defend Hellraiser Revelations, at least sparingly. Yes, it was kinda crap and low budget out the ass, BUT, I liked that it tried to hark back to original in the series. And the incest angle was fucking hot! Was there incest in those other crap DTV sequels? No? Thought not!  ;D
