Other Movies / Re: Sleeping Beauty (2014)

I few more titty shots and it may have been enough to jump up an extra point.  [*browwink*]

It did have a few monsterish type characters and a little bit of blood, but not enough for me to call it a horror film of any sorts so I feel Fantasy/Action is about right for this one.

It's been out on bluray since last year, I'm sure that would have better picture quality than whatever you watched. Here are some pics from it...

I haven't seen the movie but it's on my list of movies to check out.

Other Movies / Sleeping Beauty (2014)
August 26, 2018, 12:32:33 AM
If Rene Perez (who brought us the Playing with Dolls movies) had a bigger budget, with more accomplished actors, better costumes, effects and all that stuff, I think that he might actually be able to pull a half decent movie out of his ass some day. But until then, his movies will continue to look like made for television, fan-film hybrids and Sleeping Beauty is the epitome of that.

Anyone else had the displeasure of watching Sleeping Beauty?

Maybe watch both of these scenes and that will give you a good idea if it's your thing or not...

Horror Talk / The Greasy Strangler (2016)
August 24, 2018, 02:05:16 AM
The Greasy Strangler is an acquired taste, one of which I have an appreciation for. There will be plenty of other people out there who would wonder what the fuck they're watching and either don't understand or simply don't enjoy this type of humour. As far as weird movies go, they don't get much weirder than this.

What did you think of it?

Other Movies / Deadpool 2 (2018)
August 22, 2018, 11:43:36 PM
Deadpool 2 is plenty of fun, and a great alternative for people who can't watch any of the usual Marvel Avenger bullshit out there. It's got heaps of laughs and is excessively more violent than the other superhero flicks being shat out routinely by Hollywood.

Did you enjoy it?

Yeah, well... this how my generation say it...

Eh, it was okay. I didn't feel it was anything special. [*odd*]

Horror Talk / Bad Dreams (1988)
August 19, 2018, 01:03:13 AM
I wanted to like Bad Dreams more than I actually did. I think that fans of late 80's horror will tolerate it enough but Freddy Krueger doesn't have to worry about his spotlight being taken away by this flick.

Have you ever seen Bad Dreams?

Got off to a decent start but then managed to blend in with all the other generic scare flicks made for today's shitty generation of young people. Meh.

Other Movies / Switch (1991)
August 12, 2018, 12:31:47 PM
Switch is the type of movie you may have rented out on home video for a boring weekend. It's okay, it's corny at times and some messed up things happen throughout. I'm glad I watched it. I just don't know if I'll ever watch it again though.

Horror Talk / Fresh Meat (2012)

Temuera Morrison gives us a delightful, off-the-walls performance in this zany horror/comedy cannibal flick from New Zealand. It's a crazy, bloody movie with plenty of giggles to be had but unfortunately not consistent enough to be a truly good movie. All in all, it's an okay but forgettable movie.

Have you ever seen it?

Other Movies / Fatal Attraction (1987)
August 11, 2018, 12:36:49 AM
If somebody were to ask me to name a movie that embodies what a thriller flick is, Fatal Attraction is one of the first titles that would come to mind. If you're looking for a chilling movie outside of the horror genre, Fatal Attraction is a fine choice.

What are your thoughts on this original bunny boiler flick?

Horror Talk / Winchester (2018)
August 10, 2018, 11:15:57 PM
Winchester will serve those looking for a cheap scares but is ultimately cashing in on the wave of supernatural movies that have dominated the box office over recent years. If these type of movies are your thing, I'd recommend watching the original Insidious movie instead.

Y'all know I'm down for doll/puppet violins.  [*browwink*]
