From atrocious acting to terribly dull, over-long scenes, not to mention some of the worst computer-generation you've ever seen, Birdemic is as horrible a movie as people generally say it is. Watch it in a party environment, and you'll have fun. But it's certainly a far cry from being anywhere near good.

How do you feel about this cult classic?

In many ways, this film feels incomplete. The theme of guilt they were trying to push onto the audience never really got connected to the characters, even toward the end. Instead of explaining to us some very much need-to-know information, the final scene just brings more questions to mind. A few of the actors did fine, but it wasn't enough to pull this film out from it's senseless workings. Probably good for one view, at least.

What did you feel regarding this mid-2000's horror film?

Despite it's short run-time, it's over-abundance of characters, and lower budget, The Amityville Legacy still comes across as, while not a fun time, a decently done film. The concept alone of a father killing his children and their loved ones is bad enough, but to see it methodically play out near the end? Well, this movie didn't have that big a budget, but it did have the suspense. Not an amazing movie, but certainly one worth seeing.

What did you think about this flick?

With a great setting, a plethora of potential suspects, fun chase scenes, and an almost slasher-like mentality, The Last Warning is one of my favorite silent horror films. It doesn't possess the same prestige as many others, and generally, I've not heard even other fans of silent films praise it, making it all the more a treat if you decide to jump in and give it a chance.

Have you any thoughts on Paul Leni's last addition to the genre?

The Fog is fantastic. Great score, great actors, fun story, beautifully haunting imagery (the fog slowly rolling into town, as seen from the lighthouse, always gets me), and damn fine pacing. A few of the characters have little to add to the story, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it.

What did you think about this undeniable classic directed by Carpenter?

While this sequel is marginally better than the original, it doesn't really have a lot of additional story to offer. We occasionally get good gore (though not as much as you might think) and some pretty disgusting scenes, but the story's pretty meh throughout, and the last ten minutes or so struck me as completely unnecessary.

Do you have feelings one way or another regarding this sequel?

The Devil's Candy is an intense experience, and one of the finest horror films I've seen from the past five years. A bit shorter than average, it's a digestible flick. While not overly gory, there are some scenes of brutality and more often than not some heart-pumping sequences. A highly recommended movie with likable main characters.

What did you feel in regards to The Devil's Candy?

This dark and moody silent classic is one of those movies that's a classic for the reason. The cast is amazing, the story tragic yet deeply engaging, and it's not one that you'd soon forget. While not a horror movie in the strictest of senses, I do think fans of the genre, especially fans of the older flicks, would rather enjoy this.

What did you think about this classic silent?

So this is disregarding every movie past the 1978 original, which is fun. Looks a solid trailer, and hopefully the movie will be able to live up to the hype.

I won't doubt that this television remake of a 70's TV movie is goofy. It has some utterly laughable special effects (watch that ending and feel the glory), but damn it, I had fun with this one. Not particularly a good movie, but am I glad I took the time to see it again? Oddly, yes.

What did you think of this remake?

The biggest flaw with Siodmak is the long run-time (an hour and fifty minutes), but if you can take that, this tale about a video blogger and police officer trying to track down a serial killer might do you well. For it's budget, there are some pretty creative and touching scenes, a good cast, and overall, a moderately decent movie.

Have you yet seen Siodmak?

The Cat and the Canary is a fantastic horror/comedy mix that stands up to this day with it's heavy atmosphere, artistic flair, and great cast. A true classic of the silent era, and one of the last movies Paul Leni brought us.

What are your thoughts on this silent classic?

The four main actors are easily the most impressive thing about this movie. The story is certainly decent, and when violence does occur onscreen, it's almost always solid, but without Brad Pitt and David Duchovny, none that really matters. See it for the stars, if nothing else.

What did you think of Kalifornia?

Despite it's short runtime, Midnight Faces has about everything you could hope for from an old dark house mystery/horror movie. There's some well-done fight sequences and the mystery is moderately fun. While the most commonly-available print isn't that good, the movie itself is a solid viewing.

Have you any opinions on this silent flick?

No doubt that the ending is a bit of a let-down, Fear, Inc. still stands out as a solid watch, and if you're wary of the comedic factor, past the first twenty minutes or so, it's rather muted. Not that much gore, but a decently fun movie nonetheless.

What did you think of this horror/comedy mix?

Candyman has a lot more feeling, it seems than most horror flicks from the previous decade. While this horror-fantasy blend isn't perfect, it's flaws are far outshined by it's positive attributes. Certainly a 90's classic for a reason, Candyman has a lot of elements that make it a worth-watching movie.

How did you find this 90's classic?

This is a disjointed film entirely lacking in necessary context. Truth be told, I can't tell you what happened at the ending. It was as if the movie was just barely held together, and someone pulled the thread, thus everything fell apart. Interesting concept, some visually appealing scenes, but a terrible movie.

How do you think the hexecution of this movie worked out?

Though heavily ripping off Halloween, Offerings was a very fun late addition to the slasher sub-genre. While the gore wasn't that amazing, this Oklahoma-based movie had a lot of heart and plenty of fun characters and scenes, and if you're a fan of slashers, I'd definitely recommend giving this a look.

What are your thoughts on Offerings?

I love 80's slashers, and this one certainly had the right feel to it, but something about Hell Night didn't fully do it for me. Many of the kills were a bit blah, and there wasn't enough explanation given regarding the killer. Perhaps a case of too much hype before I finally saw it, Hell Night is decent, but I can list so many 80's slashers I liked more.

What did you think of this slasher?

I've seen this movie twice, and have been twice disappointed by it. It might have been fresh at the time, around the popularity of shows like Survivor, but My Little Eye hasn't aged well. It had a good song in it, sure, and there was an acceptable death, but there's not much here I'd go out of the way to recommend.
