From Neon Maniacs, we have "Baby Lied" by Rick Bowles, another rather catchy song.

Music / Best songs from horror filmsJuly 17, 2022, 01:05:39 AM
And I'm not talking the greatest themes here, such as Halloween's classic theme.
For instance, Prom Night end with a depressive song titled "Fade to Black" by Gordene Simpson. The Orphan (1979) is not a good movie. It's far more a drama than it is a horror. However, it does have the song "I Need to Live Alone Again" by Janis Ian (of "At Seventeen" fame). From the criminally underrated B.O.R.N. (1989), also known under the title Merchants of Death, there's a fantastic song titled "How Do You Begin" by Jenifer Smith Meisner. Lastly, lets end with an up-beat song. From Blacula, we have the insanely catchy "There He Is Again" by The Hues Corporation. Believe me, this went to my iTunes immediately. What are some of your favorite songs from horror films? #18

Though, I do know, from some people I do trust when it comes to horror, that they had a good time with it. #19

I would not go as far as to say I spammed it, but hey, whatever works.
Actually, I do feel the need to clarify, just to sate my curiosity - are you the Jason from California? I'd suspect so (I can't think of many others I know with the screen-name), but I wasn't sure. Either way, happy that you're here, and look forward to you popping in every now and again. #20

The beginning shootout takes place September 1973. Does Daddario look 39 in this movie? Gore was pretty solid, though, and like I said, it probably ties with the 2003 remake and In the Beginning as my third favorite in the series. #21

The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959)
I slightly prefer the 1939 Rathbone version, but this is a rather solid film too, and in color. My one issue is that, as much as I love Christopher Lee, I don't think he's the right guy for the role of Henry Baskerville. Still a quality rendition of the movie. 8/10. Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013) Honestly, while there are some problems with this film, I had an okay time. It's below average, but it probably ties as my third favorite movie in the franchise. 6/10. #22

I enjoyed The Visit enough, but I do agree that It Follows does it better.

Definitely agree with Midsommar, The Void, and Train to Busan.
Still haven't taken the time to watch The Wailing, though everything I've heard has been positive, so I'm looking forward to seeing it. #24

A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989)
Always thought that this was the worst of the series. No idea what's going on, and it's just overall drab. Horrible kills, too. While Freddy's Dead is flawed, at least it's entertaining, and I don't believe this one really is. 5/10. The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1994) Known also as Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (which I admit is a better title), this honestly wasn't terrible until the last twenty or so minutes. I mean, it wasn't good before that, but that drop in quality was astonishing. Renée Zellweger did well, but otherwise, this movie isn't much my cup of tea, though still better than the second movie. 5.5/10. #25

The Hole (2001)
Seen this before a few times. Quality British thriller/mystery. Good performances from Thora Birch and Daniel Brocklebank. Worth seeing. #26

Thought I might as well post some favorites from 2018 to 2021 *shrugs*:
2018: Apostle, Kill Game, Killer High, The Strangers: Prey at Night, You Might Be the Killer 2019: Midsommar, Recovery, Sea Fever, The Banana Splits Movie 2020: Run, The Hunt, The New Mutants 2021: Fear Street: 1978, Fear Street: 1666, Howard's Mill, Malignant, Wrong Turn Both 2020 and 2021 were rough - I've seen 17 horror films from each of them, and so few stand out in a positive fashion. #27

Still a 7.5/10. Solid film. #29

Admittedly, I've not yet seen Possession, but the fact Sam Neill is in it has long been a point of interest for me.
Just finished In the Spider's Web (2007). All-in-all, this was decent. Still below average, but it had a few good characters, an okay story at times, and rather realistic spiders 95% of the time. Not a movie for those afflicted with arachnophobia, but overall, wasn't a bad rewatch. 6/10. #30

Invitation to Hell (1982)
Not to be confused with the 1984 Wes Craven film of the same name, this 41 minute short was directed by Michael J. Murphy. It's rather low budget, and the quality is pretty poor. Performances weren't that great, but there was at least a solid kill, being a crucifixion of sorts. I'd really only recommend it to fans of low budget British Satanic horror, though. 4/10. Blue Demon y Zovek en La invasión de los muertos (1973) Known in the USA as The Invasion of the Dead, this Mexican zombie movie was slow. Admittedly, I have seen this before, but not with subtitles, so it was nice to understand more of it. Even so, not great. 4.5/10. |
