Horror Talk / Basket Case 2 (1990)
March 01, 2018, 04:17:31 PM
There are plenty of WTF moments to be had in Basket Case 2, especially towards the end of the movie.

Horror Talk / Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003)
February 28, 2018, 10:18:52 AM
Jeepers Creepers 2 might not be as suspenseful as the first movie, but it does a have little more action due to the Creeper being hunted himself which makes for a slightly faster paced movie with a little more excitement.

Other Movies / Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008)
February 27, 2018, 10:06:20 PM
I feel that this sequel is a little better than the first movie but only marginally. This one has some more memorable characters this time around, and Luke Goss plays a pretty cool bad guy, with some similarities to his evil character from Blade II.

Horror Talk / Playing With Dolls: Bloodlust (2016)
February 27, 2018, 12:11:16 AM
Many of the issues that plagued the first movie still remain in this sequel. It gets off to a nice gory start but immediately becomes a chore from that point onward with shitty acting and has basically copycatted the plot from a better, yet poor film, Halloween: Resurrection.

Horror Talk / Wolf Creek 2 (2013)
February 25, 2018, 02:52:52 PM
Wolf Creek 2 is a violent game of cat and mouse without much subtext. It relies more on the personality of its villain, shock value and occasional giggles than it does with fearful scares, which it manages to get away with when you consider the complimentary action sequences in the movie.

Horror Talk / Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp (2003)
February 24, 2018, 01:09:40 AM
Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp is not a good movie but is also not a completely terrible one if you can appreciate its obvious limitations in budget, talent and most other things that help to make a good movie.

Other Movies / Scary Movie 2 (2001)
February 23, 2018, 09:19:46 PM
There are plenty of funny moments, including a fantastic battle of wittiness between two differently handicapped people. There are also plenty of spoof scenes that fall flat too. Scary Movie 2 has its fun side but does lose steam before the movie concludes.

Horror Talk / Candyman: Farewell To The Flesh (1995)
February 22, 2018, 01:25:39 AM
Tony Todd has a decent screen presence with his Candyman character but there's not much excitement when he's not on the screen. This sequel is quite mediocre.

Horror Talk / Psycho II (1983)
February 21, 2018, 09:53:15 PM
Psycho II is probably not as shocking as the original, at least for its time, but it is a better, more entertaining movie to watch overall.

Horror Talk / Bloodstone: Subspecies II (1993)
February 20, 2018, 01:13:03 PM
I'm not particularly a fan of this series but my wife is so I will refrain from talking too much shit about it. Not exactly my cup of tea since I'm not massively into vampires but it does have its own dedicated cult following.

Other Movies / Batman Returns (1992)
February 19, 2018, 02:57:46 PM
Batman Returns is well-acted with great music and the action is quite exciting for a movie that is geared towards being family-friendly. I'm not a huge superhero fan, but I do really enjoy the first two Batman movies in this particular series.

Horror Talk / Fright Night Part 2 (1988)
February 18, 2018, 01:30:27 PM
Chris Sarandon was a more intriguing villain than the group of vampires that are featured in Fright Night Part 2. Despite that, fans of the first movie should be pleased enough with this follow-up.

Other Movies / American Ninja 2: The Confrontation (1987)
February 17, 2018, 02:47:30 AM
American Ninja 2 is a good watch if you're in the mood to just sit back, chill and give your brain a 90 minute break with some mindless B-grade action. Steve James kicks ass and it's a shame he died so young.  [*cry*]

It's certainly not on the same level as the original, but has its quirky moments while Freddy is still scary and not a bumbling, power glove wielding buffoon as he is later reduced to in the franchise sequels.

What is your opinion of A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge?

Horror Talk / Aliens (1986)
February 15, 2018, 10:16:50 AM
The pace has quickened over the original, includes a lot more action while maintaining plenty of engaging and suspenseful scenes.

How does Aliens compare to the original? Better, worse, same?

Horror Talk / Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)
February 13, 2018, 11:58:35 PM
Exorcist II: The Heretic is a disappointing follow-up to the original movie, in my opinion... and in most other peoples opinions too. It lacked suspense and the backstory wasn't enjoyable.

Were you also disappointing with this sequel to the classic original?

Horror Talk / Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)
February 13, 2018, 01:13:02 AM
The 80's were a golden age for horror films and I don't think modern cinema is able to emulate the aura that these first couple of Hellraiser movies contained from that era.

Horror Talk / The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999)
February 11, 2018, 11:23:17 PM
It's nowhere near as good as the original movie but I do think The Rage: Carrie 2 is a decent sequel for the 90's. The plotline of Carrie White's father passing the gift/curse of telekinesis down to another child, albeit decades later, is a better idea for a sequel than many other lame storylines that have been used to continue other movies.

Other Movies / Robocop 2 (1990)

It's not quite as shocking as the original movie but it is a lot of fun, has some interesting new characters and an exciting finale.
