Horror Talk / The Brain (1988)
June 13, 2019, 12:58:37 AM
The creature or "Brain" if you will, was entertaining at times due to its cheesy effects and utter ridiculousness, but that only provides momentary joy. Many of the characters were quite dull and boring at times. Effects are okay but I would have preferred a more gorier or gooey experience.

Did you enjoy The Brain?

Other Movies / Blood Out (2011)
May 30, 2019, 11:27:39 AM
Aside from its bad-ass opening theme music and my general admiration of Luke Goss based on his characters from Blade II and Hellboy II, this is a pretty stupid movie that starts off okay and gets sillier and uninteresting as it progresses.

Who else has seen Blood Out?

Horror Talk / Cardiac Arrest (1980)
May 30, 2019, 11:05:57 AM
Cardiac Arrest is a huge disappointment, which is a shame because the plot itself has promise. Don't be fooled by the artwork, this is some midday movie shit that would have you yearning to watch a whole season of Matlock instead.

What are your thoughts on this movie?

Horror Talk / Head Games (1996)
May 05, 2019, 02:54:10 PM
There's a decent plot here, but the execution doesn't do it justice. The characters could have been more interesting and it would have benefited from being more violent in its most pivotal scenes. I wouldn't mind re-watching though if it ever gets a high-def release.

Have you any thoughts on Head Games?

Horror Talk / Camp Death III in 2D! (2018)
April 28, 2019, 02:28:34 AM
I must question as to whether the people involved in this production are genuine horror fans. It's a completely retarded attempt even for a parody movie with annoying characters in a production that would make an episode of the 3 Stooges look like Shakespeare by comparison.

Has anyone else seen this garbage parody flick known as 'Camp Death III in 2D!'?

Horror Talk / Pet Sematary (2019)
April 06, 2019, 01:21:51 PM
Pet Sematary is a decent remake and does a few things differently to the original movie but in terms of overall enjoyment, it's more or less about as enjoyable as the original movie.

Have you checked it out yet?

Horror Talk / Us (2019)
April 05, 2019, 11:23:42 AM
"Us" is quite an original movie that I moderately enjoyed. I feel there is potentially room for greater appreciation upon a later re-watch once I am able to obtain answers to some of the questions that the movie has left me with.

Horror Talk / Monster Man (2003)
March 22, 2019, 02:07:23 PM
Monster Man is funny, ridiculous with a few gross situations. Watch it with a bunch of friends who also enjoy silly horror flicks and you're sure to have a good time.

What do you think about it?

Other Movies / Day of the Warrior (1996)
March 22, 2019, 01:46:40 PM
If I were a young teenager again, I could definitely see myself wrecking a few pairs of pants while watching this movie. It's full of big tits, cheesy lines and some people get blown up along the way. I'd watch it again, but only for the big titties. Nothing else about the movie is special enough to warrant a repeat viewing.

Other Movies / Miami Connection (1987)
March 18, 2019, 12:46:37 AM
There's some decent action at the beginning and end but I found a big chunk of the movie to be quite dull. There is some humour to be had in the silliness of everything so I think there is potential for me to enjoy it more when I next decide to give it a spin.

Are you a fan of Miami Connection?

Other Movies / The Marine (2006)
March 14, 2019, 04:33:23 PM
I got about as much as I was expecting out of this flick; a bunch of dudes getting chased after and beaten up with a few chuckles to boot. It's not bad if you just want 90 minutes of a brain-dead action movie but there's certainly nothing special or unique about this action flick.

Horror Talk / Carrie (2002)
March 09, 2019, 03:19:00 AM
This television remake has some heart and it feels as though they are genuinely trying to do something extra with it rather than just shamelessly copying the original movie. However, this product is inferior in most aspects to the original. A part of that is due to this version being a smaller production, but another part of that is Brian de Palma being a tough director to compete against.

Horror Talk / Greta (2018)
March 08, 2019, 04:11:52 PM
Greta is an okay movie with commendable performances from its lead actresses. The story is intriguing but loses some steam as it progresses to a fairly generic and borderline silly finale.

Horror Talk / Unmasked: Part 25 (1989)
January 12, 2019, 03:37:06 PM
Unmasked Part 25 is silly, a little funny and is a surprisingly decent slasher flick if you can put up with some annoying or questionable acting that is cleverly hidden by the nature of this type of movie. It's definitely an overlooked movie that I'd recommend to any slasher fans or for people who just love unusual, oddball type of movies.

Horror Talk / Suspiria (2018)
December 24, 2018, 02:19:08 PM
This remake of Suspiria is a long-ass movie, and I feel as though it runs that long out of desire rather than necessity. Because of this, there are way too many gaps between exciting scenes that resulted in plenty of boredom on my end. If I was apple to get into the characters, I would have had a better viewing experience but the only actor that really did anything for me with their character was Tilda Swinton.

What did you think of this remake?

Other Movies / Skyscraper (1996)
December 24, 2018, 11:21:30 AM
It's basically Die Hard but with a big-titted blonde that can't act (but sure captivates me with her tittays). It's plenty ridiculous but it doesn't have enough laugh-out-loud moments to be put alongside other greats from the "so bad they're good" category.

What have you got to say about Skyscraper?
