Damn it, I forgot. 16 to Life isn't the last movie I saw.

I saw the Avengers a few days ago. A friend let me borrow her DVD copy, so I finally got to see it.

Overall, for the most part, I was impressed. Some parts just made me laugh ("Hulk... go smash," or something to that effect).

There's probably something, but at this moment, nothing is coming to mind. I only play PlayStation 2 games anyway, and everything on that system is golden, so probably nothing. :p

How irritating virtually every female character bar a few have been?

Oh yeah, and this.

I think Season 3 has been pretty damn good though and it may finally go from "good" show to "great" show if it keeps it up.

I never watched The Walking Dead, but how long can they keep it up? They might meet the occasional new character, old characters die off slowly, tensions run high, infighting occurs, etc.

Unless I'm missing something vital about the plot, I can't see it going on forever, and more to my point, I can't understand how it could be terribly creative and unique to view.

Last one I watched was The Cradle Will Fall (1983).

Actually, I've seen eight movies recently, but I don't want to start another shitstorm about "OMG You can't list more than one movie in the last horror movie you've seen thread - if you've seen more than one, then you're shit out of luck." I'd have already started my own thread, but I don't want people to think I think I deserve a special treatment.

Onto the film itself, it was an odd one. Plot was simple: A doctor is performing experiments on women, and through research, a lawyer finds out about it. There's more to it, but that's the basics. Anyhow, apparently this film is a supplement to the now-defunct soap opera Guiding Light (which I recall watching when I was younger), as some characters from the show appear in the background (same actors/actresses and all). At leas that's how I understand it. It's not a bad film, though it is made-for-television, so it's a bit on the lower end of quality. The last 20 minutes or so were pretty thrilling though, I admit. Overall, though, pretty average. 6.5/10.

I love Blair Witch Project. Properly creeped me out. I also loved Cloverfield. Not horror, no. But "found footage" no less. When done properly they can do things that no one else can. I suppose you can put Marble Hornets in with them too and you'd be on to a winner. Is Grave Encounters similar?

Goes to show how liberal my definition of horror is - I fully count Cloverfield as horror.  [*laugh*]

16 to Life (2009)

A coming-of-age (more or less) story about a girl on her 16th birthday who's never been kissed. What I loved about this film was the dialogue and style of filming. It's not your typical teenage comedy - it's much more intelligent. It's actually a lot like Easy A (2010), only this came out before it. There are terribly funny scenes alongside some heartbreaking scenes. Loved the film. 10/10.

I wouldn't have a clue but I'm assuming at the $100+ mark since they're a household name.

Funny thing I should mention by the way... the last time they toured Oz, apparently some guy fell off a fence (which he was allegedly climbing over to sneak into the concert) and hurt himself quite bad. The guy that runs Soundwave joked about it saying that he wasn't trying to sneak into the concert, he heard Nickelback playing in the background and tried to kill himself.  [*laugh*]

Least I thought it was funny.  [*uhoh*]

I'm more or less a fan of Nickelback (I like the occasional song), and I found that deeply amusing.

We COULD fix it in our profiles' settings though, but it was well hidden.

I thought we could too, but I didn't want to go searching for it. Color me lazy.

I still think The Devil's Rejects is one of the finest films from 2005, but I do believe most of his other work is iffy at best.

Just thought I'd mention that I changed the destination from where you go when you post something. Originally, you would be taken to the list of topics from the board you've just posted in. Now when you post you will be taken to the post you have just made... which makes more sense.

Thank God, that was so annoying.

De's coming back? Fantastic. As sad as it is, he's one of the old members I miss the most.

Where is that old sack anyway figured he would be one of the first to join.
Sent him a message on Deviant Art letting him know the place was back, but he hasn't replied. Don't see his name among the member's list either.

I'm sure he'll be back - maybe he hasn't seen the message yet. I'll give him a few weeks before I write him off (which of course I really don't want to do).

Looks like it's got the same witch/hell beast from Insidious. I'm down for a prequel. What, you guys don't like the Opera music or some shit?
Don't think it's a matter of Opera music. No, it's more of a matter of most of us learning our lesson with Rob Zombie. Which is, "Avoid him at all costs for he is the eater of worlds."

If he was as cool as Galactus, believe me, I'd like him more.

Oh, I felt lukewarm toward Atrocious. The 20 minutes of running through a dark forest was, while realistic, sort of boring, even with the occasional screams.

I still have not seen Cannibal Holocaust, but that film should get a pass anyways, as it's the first horror film to use that technique.

Actually, the music is fantastic, but the film itself looks like a mess. A more satanist version of House of 1000 Corpses, basically, with a mesh of scenes and odd camera angles to make up for creativity when it comes to the story itself (which, upon my second viewing of House of 1000 Corpses, worked pretty well).
