Random Bullshit / Re: Long time no see
September 10, 2021, 02:29:34 AM
So I was going to ask what your old username was, and then reread your second sentence.  [*laugh*]

Glad to see you back, though.

I miss those old review days (I know I did a zombie one, with The Dead Pit, City of the Living Dead, and some others), but Chucky and I have gotten back to review shows (https://www.youtube.com/user/FightEvilcom/videos) and have 48 episodes (five movies each episode) uploaded, so that might be worth checking out.

It's hard to go wrong with Hellraiser or Wishmaster (at least until Hellraiser: Bloodline or Wishmaster 2), but the first movies in the series are just as great as they've always been.

Again, nice to see you back - we're glad to have you.

Better than the first movie but still below average. Deal with it.  [*hibaby*]

Damn it, I knew I was missing something in my review.  [*laugh*]

Horror Talk / Squirm (1976)

I admit that this impressed me quite a bit. The southern scenery was beautiful, most of the central cast were strong, and the special effects were, as the kids say, on point. It's a well-done movie, maybe a little dry during the first hour, but ultimately well worth a watch.

What are your thoughts on worm-based horror films?

Horror Talk / The Dead Next Door (1989)
June 27, 2021, 02:25:31 AM
While I won't deny that The Dead Next Door occasionally boasts some pretty good special effects, I find so much of the movie, from performances to the story, inept, and because of that, I just really didn't care much for this one.

Anyone out there legit enjoy this addition to the zombie subgenre?

Horror Talk / Eden Lake (2008)

For a fun time, Eden Lake has your back. Imagine sunflowers and bright fields flowing with happy children, and you understand what Eden Lake is aiming for.

What are your thoughts on this British movie?

The Last House on the Left (1972).

This was a fun movie to revisit. Fun not for it's gritty nature, but it's been so long since I've seen this one that I had a quality time with it.

Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla (1952)

Believe it or not, this was, as the kidz say, #fuckingterrible.

Video Games / Re: phasmophobia

There actually are PC games I want to play. One that comes to mind is Life is Strange. It's just the commitment it takes to get into a story-based PC game like that is more than I can generally muster.

I only play games on consoles. My PS2 has been getting a hella workout recently with MLB 2003 and X-Men Legends and it's sequel.

Yeah, I'm old-school. [*browwink*]

So I've seen this advertised all over Prime, but I've not really looked into it as yet. Might be interesting.

So I think I've seen the first four movies, but barely remember anything about the third and the forth, which pretty much confirms what you said.

Oh, and about Dushku - I think Chucky agrees.  [*browwink*]

If you love it, it's not a 0/10 for you.  There's a reason I gave Troll 2 a decent score, for instance.

That's my issue with Birdemic - it's God-awful, and feels like it should deserve as low a score as is commonly given, but at the same time, there is a decent element of enjoyment that comes with it.

It's a hard road that we walk, which is why others may crawl.

Still haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust, but at least I got my review for this one up.  [*laugh*]
